Don't give up on 'em just yet Bucky!

It's so hard not to. But hey, it's a great year for the Brewers either way. It isn't very often that they actually have the talent loaded up to disappoint us in the first place. LOL

Not that I'm disappointed just yet......just kind of nervous. Looking for some signs that they're going to get hot again here and make some noise in the playoffs.

I agree with you.
I'm a little nervous as well.

What can you do?

At least it looks like the NFL dispute is at an end!

It keeps lookin' like it but it keeps not being official. I am naturally cynical, so this is just torture.

Hey. You know what player I would have loved see in a Packers uniform? I mean besides Barry Sanders.

Peyton Hillis. When is last time we had dudes in the league really just running over linemen? Peterson can run guys over, and he's definitely a more athletic back than Hillis, but I was watching some highlights yesterday and I don't think any tailback has just run people over like that since friggi' Christian Okoye. 'course...Okoye only lasted about 4 years as a result.

Still. How fun would it be to watch Kuhn lead block for Hillis. Smash. Smash. Smash. Smash. Smash. Smash. Touchdown.

That would be cool Bucky.

Now about the Barry thing -
I've thought about that a lot in the past [particularly while Mandarich was still playing].

Here's my conclusion:
If the Packers had picked Sanders instead - I believe they would have been just good enough [like Detroit], to feel they were almost there, yet they wouldn't have been.
I believe Barry Sanders in a Packers uniform would have kept Green Bay from ever hiring Holmgren, pursuing Reggie White, & trading for Brett.
No SBs XXXI win, XXXII loss, even the XLV win[?] . . . you get the idea.

That lousy Mandarich pick [what a joke!] was possibly the greatest thing to ever happen to the Green Bay Packers!

  :first: :amen:

To add to last comment: ^^^^^^^^

Even the current Packers are to great degree, a direct descendent of the Wolf era.

No, you absolutely have a point there. He would have "resurrected" the Packers....but only to a certain point. On the OTHER hand. Same Packers teams of the 90s....throw in Barry. Do the Cowboys win more than one super bowl? I don't think so. I think Holmgren could have run a West Coast gash and throw style. Chewy was a good enough blocker for Holmgren to go to a heavy run set of downs, and then from the same package throw 8 times in a row. And Favre would have loved dishing to Sanders on the screens. It would have been pure mayhem out there. Who could stop that?

IF they had Farve & Barry = look out!

I just don't think Farve would've been there if Sanders was a Packer.

I agree with you. Just fun to think about. On the other hand, like you said, this has been one hell of a great chain of events. Even with some of the down years in there. All worth it. Thompson and McCarthy came in, and they did it their way, and the whole team is just loaded with potential pro-bowlers who don't even want to go anywhere else. It's crazy.
