The veteran Tom Brady vs the young Russell Wilson, the outgoing Pete Carroll vs grumpy Bill Belichick, the Seahawks brash and trash talking vs the Patriots head down and work hard. The first official use of the term Super Bowl was used in Super Bowl 3, the first two were called the AFL-NFL World Championship Game and Roman numerals weren't used until Super Bowl V.

NFL tradition, the big game is written out in Roman numerals. It all started with Super Bowl 5 -- that's V. Bob Moore, historian for the Kansas City Chiefs, credits the idea of using Roman numerals to the late Lamar Hunt. Hunt was owner of the Chiefs and one of the godfathers of the modern NFL. Hunt is also credited with coming up with the Super Bowl name. So, why the Roman numerals? Historian Moore says the fancy numbering made the game seem more important.

Seahawks win by 7-10 points. But if Thomas and Sherman end up unable to play, then Pats offense should be able to put TD after TD on the board and they'll have a huge advantage.

My initial thoughts are the Pats big due to the showing last weekend...but, I also think it was the one crapfest Seattle had in them and it would be highly unlikely that they would have 2 in a row. I am saying it, like Vegas, is a coin flip and I would pick Seattle by 2 pts.
