Players tribune article from 2019 from Jalen Hurts. The thing about Hurts is that he was a developmental QB that needed a ton of work to become an NFL QB. But the payoff always was that if you could get the kid caught up, you had an exceptional leader, winner, and citizen that could raise the level of the team he plays for. I can’t believe how well this worked out. I will own that I didn’t see it. Tip of the cap to the people who did and gave him a chance. The best Eagles is the 50/50 Eagles that really commit to running the ball and creating balance. They possess the ball for 35+ minutes. That’s a Pascal game script over a Quez game script. I’m good with Quez on about 10-15 snaps but they need Pascal’s blocking.

This is kind of a weird matchup to prognosticate. There is a lot of strength on strength matchups. Chiefs top big play pass offense. Eagles top pass defense and pass rush. Chiefs maybe 3rd or 4th best oline and pass rush. Mahomes best QB but Hurts maybe 3rd or 4th best QB.

Seems like Kelce is probably going to do well against what the Eagles base defense does but Eagles will obviously key on him. Chiefs generally really good at screen passes, swing passes, wheel routes, etc to counter teams bringing pressure. Chiefs on defense generally run Cover 2 shells to avoid big pass plays which means in theory they can be run against. I strongly suspect the Chiefs won't run the same type of defenses they run against the Bengals and Chargers. I think the Eagles will be like the Niners and Bucs in the last Super Bowls and just come out and check to see if the Chiefs can hold up in physicality. Obviously 2 pretty different results.
