Mahomes just won't have the time he needs to throw. Coupled with the fact that the ankle won't be all that much better.

You would have to assume the ankle was probably the worst it had been after the Bengal's game. So it got a week of rest but this week he will have to start testing in practice. It just will not get any time to heal.

The Chiefs OL is no joke in pass protection. Mahomes mobility is a double edged sword. He likely helps keep sack numbers down because of his ability to keep plays alive but it’s a real bitch for an OL guy to block for a guy who improvises. The execution of a move to seal a pass rusher from the pocket becomes a bad choice if the QB bails on said pocket.
