Must suck to be Jimmy G lol
Jimmy G is in the end just a guy, with some winners luck. He's high floor low ceiling.

Jimmy G owns us besides one game 2 weeks ago where he was running for his life in the 4th quarter.

How did you know I was talking about him? Seriously, though, this applies to a lot of people.

Might be the only guy in the league that absolutely has owned us. Besides last game and the last quarter

That fucker needs to be our backup

Well…

The only thing worse than fans of the losing team complaining about the refs is…

Fans of the winning team complaining about the refs.
I'm complaining about the refs, he complained i pointed out an obvious no call

Maybe not. But if you have no faith in your QB and your running game has been ineffective for a quarter and a half…

Still the wrong call, IMO. Shanahan had a choice to go for 1 yard and really seize the game. It's roughly a 50-50 shot. Rams had no timeouts and could've died a slow death. Instead, Shanahan punts and chooses a slow death for his team, and by the end of the game, his team is facing 3rd and long to try to just survive when Jimmy throws the pick.

Not gonna read all the pages.... but it sure seemed like the refs wanted the Rams to score on their scoring last drive.
Didn’t watch the game either, apparently…

there was a VERY flagrant non call earlier in the game that led to a Bungle TD.

My point is actually that it doesn't take guts. It's simply the smart decision to go for it on 4th and 1.
Well, that can be argued, they had all 3 timeouts and plenty of time to get a stop .. BUT, no guts no glory …

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the Bengals have lost 3 Super Bowls by a combined 12 points…

You're old school, boogie. I respect that. I just think that putting more of the game in the hands of your offense is key to winning in today's NFL. Offense continues to get better and the rules are set up for offense to have an advantage over the defense.

I think the NFL is changing. The number of punts per game has decreased a lot. Teams are smartly going for it more often. Some coaches are more advanced at this than others. Coaches like John Harbaugh and Sean McVay are ahead. Pete Carroll and Kyle Shanahan are behind.

Offense is the biggest factor. A game can be won or lost based on whether you scored a TD instead of a FG in one of your first half possessions. Scoring TD's is the key to winning and the coaches who give themselves 4 downs to do it instead of 3 will be the ones winning more often in today's NFL.

Going back some 27 or so years ago, who here knew that Barry Switzer was ahead of his time when he went for it on 4th and short in that game against the Eagles?

You make some good points, game is definitely more offensive, things have changed over the years…

“… And gets an estimated $20m in advertising out of it”

and I believe I saw somewhere he hedges his bets as well, but doesn’t advertise those. It is basically just a big “look at me” thing he does every year (not that there is anything wrong with that - it is actually a brilliant ploy)
