Well. We hired Caldwell. Certainly not my choice. or my 2nd choice, or my 3rd choice. or......anyhow. Caldwell is our coach and as many of you know I look for the positives.

First and foremost he was groomed by Dungy. He worked with Dungy in Tampa, and was with him his entire tenure in Indy.

Took Indy to the Superbowl.

Has took part in 3 Superbowls.

Improved Ravens offense and helped get them to the Superbowl after a terrible start.

Did not lose to Ohio State as a college HC.

Seems to always build high powered passing offenses. At Wake Forest, Indy, and Baltimore they all were pass first teams and usually with success. (rushing is a different story)

Has a mustache.

He was the most prepared interviewee that I heard about.

Seems to have a plan for Stafford.

Plan might be throw to CJ and pray.

Has a wife.

He is 58 years old which we all know is a good luck number for the Lions.

I actually have something to add here. He coached under Tom Moore at Indy. Moore was not only Indy's OC with Manning, he was our Lions OC in 1995 (actually 1994-1996) when the team set offensive records running his rhythm offense. I hated Scott Mitchell, but I loved that offense. Maybe, just maybe, Caldwell didn't have free reign over the Ravens offense, and now that he does, he'll run Tom Moore's offense.

I was in the bank the other day and they wanted to see my drivers license. I just keep it in my back pocket so it's curved a bit. The gal picked it up and looked at it (more interested in the shape of it than what's written on it). I told her it was my buttprint. dont see how this is a bad hire yes granted his record in the past hasnt been the greatest and yes he went 2-14 with the colts but that team was built around manning and when he got hurt they literally had no one at all i mean orlovsky was the qb i believe a couple games and we all know how that went yes he wasnt the sexiest option most of us wanted whiz but can you remember back when gb hired mcarthy he wasnt their first pick either i dont believe and look what he has done not comparing the two coaches or nothing but damn guys we havent been good for decades lets give this guy a friken chance
