Don't know what happened. But The Angels starter tonight, Rasmus, threw 43 pitches and got taken out. He was pitching terrifically. 4 innings, 1 hit, 0 runs and 4 K's.

I saw earlier, their starter Shoemaker is having an MRI and now Rasmus obviously has a problem as well.

Maybe the injury bug is in our division.

Oh....and the Angels BP has given up 6 earned in 1.1.

Rasmus has been in their bullpen all year until their last starter went down and they have been using him as a starter trying to stretch him out. He went 3 innings in his last start vs the rangers I think, then they go to the bullpen early until they get him where he can pitch 6-7 innings

Rasmus isn't a starter and I don't believe he is stretched out. He started another game and threw just as few pitches.

Thanks Murph and Rev.

Their BP has totally collapsed. Gone 1.2 innings and given up 9 earned.

Our division is not going to play so well in the post season.

I'm afraid of Kemp's injury history. However, I love his attitude and power.

If he could remain upright for the next few years, I'd love to see him in our OF.

But all this said, how are we gonna feel if EA gets his head on straight and becomes Ozzie Smith? And this isn't out of the question IMO at all.

Well hopefully having Profar hit 15-20 HR's while actually knocking guys in might make it easier. I'm taking shots at EA now. I saw yesterday where Kemp and Puig got into it in the dugout. Kemp is probably going to be moved. He's said in the past he would love to play here. I see it as a good fit and that's some 3, 4, 5 in the line-up, but I don't even know that they would want EA. We would probably have to get Kemp giving up some of your youngsters, and if it's Gallo then forget it.

His contract is horrible for a guy who can only be a DH. He plays awful defense.

If you told me at the beginning of the year that Lewis would make 29 starts, pitch 170 innings and post 2 WAR then I would've told you that you were crazy

The first will likely happen and the last 2 are achievable, my guess is he ends up at 1.9 (according to fangraphs)

I had no clue what to expect after the complete hip rebuild. I will gladly take him back for next year for another 30 starts and hopefully 180+ innings around a 4.5 ERA. He can put up 2-3 fWAR doing so from the 4th or 5th spot in the rotation.

Joey Gallo | 3B | Texas Rangers
Gallo finished one homer behind Bryant for the overall minor league lead; he led the Class-A Carolina League in homers despite leaving the league in early June and fell one short of tying for the Texas League lead despite not arriving there until, well, early June. Gallo still strikes out too often, 39.5 percent of his at-bats in Double-A after his promotion, but he was the youngest every-day player in the league and showed slight improvement in his contact rate as the summer went on. Of course, nothing he did this year was likely to match the show he put on at the Futures Game.

Nomar Mazara | OF | Texas Rangers
Mazara got a record $5 million bonus back in 2011 as a 16-year-old in the Dominican Republic, but despite great bat speed and a decent approach, he didn't produce much in his first try at full-season ball in 2013. Repeating the Sally League this year, he was still young for the level at age 19 and hit .264/.358/.470, earning a two-level promotion to Double-A, where he hit even better, .306/.381/.518 in 24 games (small sample alert). Mazara always has projected to hit for average and power, but he looked so far away even in his solid summer in 2012 in the Arizona Rookie League that it was hard to imagine he would see the majors before he turned 23. Now he might get there before he reaches the legal drinking age.

He has been bad this year defensively, but he's not any worse than Rios or Nelly in the field.

He has been bad historically defensively and with his injuries he's a complete liability in the field. He is worse than Cruz in the field. To a tune of -87 career DRS for Kemp and -9 for Cruz. Rios is actually the best fielder of the three career, but he's older and that ability is slipping. For Kemp that ability has never really been there. I wouldn't want him anywhere near the OF.

Also Choo needs to be hidden in RF anyway.

I'd like to win this series just to grief the A's. I still have bad memories of the last 3 games in 2012. I think that series hurt ALMOST as much as the World Series melt down in St.Louis. Everyone, including the A's, thought we were going to win just 1 out of 3 to safely take the division and then.......... Josh Hamilton happened. I'm glad we will have a new division winner and I'm hoping the A's finish off the collapse and don't make the playoffs at all. Keeping my fingers crossed. Let's spoil their season boys!

Our division is not going to play so well in the post season.

Their offense might get them enough runs to take a series, though what's left of their pitching staff isn't really built for the postseason

Agree with you completely on this Rev.
