A third person called 911. They said it was spotted and mostly black. Sherriff stopped by and said they believe it's a Black Florida Jaguar.
We live surrounded by an 18 hole golf course and a huge marsh beyond it. Man is ripping the animals' habitat to shreds and they have to move. If this cat has found a place where it can hide and eat, so be it.
That is awesome, those big cats are amazing specimens. It is true that we humans have destroyed the natural habitat of those animals. In Southern Florida, as in most other places, it’s the fault of uncontrolled and voracious urban developers, greased up county and city officials, etc, etc.

There were four of them grazing on my side lawn and trying to get the bloosoms off the Loquat tree.

Tip: Put a simple radio with classic music at very very low volume 24/7, they will get near but not approach your blossoming trees and plants. Weird but it works.

Landscapers coming next week and will be ripping the yard to shreds. Won't be any animals coming around for a while. Five trees being removed (dead, Roots going under foundation) Bushes being removed. New balanced plants, four foot walkway and new sod over the entire lot. Give the wife something to get stressed about.

Don’t doubt you at all. Florida is a leading example of what it is to ravage coastlines. It has been better with legislation and stuff but some still get away and are raping that land.

Not in your home necessarily, just make sure you abide to all regulations.

Replacing all the trees with new ones that will be planted correctly and nurtured to grow upright and away from the foundation. Original trees were left in place when the house was built and three died and were never removed. One has major limb that is so heavy that it's parallel to the ground and it has roots that are moving under the house with another species that is growing two feet from it. Former owner rented the house and never took care of anything. By the end of 2022 I'll have spent $75,000 improving the structure, internal components and the surrounding grounds. Everything will grow in harmony and I'll have professionals trim and maintain the newbies. Nature out of control is a not only nasty, it's an expensive pain in the ass.

Ya'll playing Power ball?

Drawing tomorrow is for $1.5B+.

If you did win something like that, think it would change you a lot??

Seriously. When my wife and I lived in Chester, NH, I had a neighbor who hit it. Honest. He hit a $54M jackpot. The library was open on Monday and Thursday and he and I met there before he won. He took the annuity. He drove up to Concord every year to pick up the check. They took 25% for taxes and he got a paper check for $1,350,000. He actually showed it to me and the librarian. This guy worked as a mechanic at a place called Anderson Equipment and he kept working after he won, filling in for anyone on vacation. Never married, never had a steady girlfriend. Lived with his mother and ugly sister. I swear, first thing he did was pay off his mother's house and buy the lot of land next door to it. Then he had the exact same house as his mother's built and when it was finished, he moved into it. The only thing he did was buy a fully decked out Ram Power pickup and did circles on his neighbor's lawn because the guy always made fun of his old ford pickup. Through twenty years that I would run into him, he never married. He funded a new volunteer fire station in Chester. He donated a million dollars to the town to help build a new school for grades k-8. He gave the library a $25,000 annual gift to purchase books and tapes and actually funded a renovation for $150,000. he made sure that his two brothers and their families were well cared for and paid for all of nieces and nephews to go to the college of their choice free. When he first won, he got so much mail that the post office in Chester had to put it in bins. He showed me some of the letters. Women from everywhere were begging him to marry them and some of them sent him pictures with less clothing than Sharky's avatar. "You don't have to love me, but I'll love you forever."

That's what $54M will get you. How many offers do you think you'd get with $1.5B?

He won in 1995. He's got three more payments coming. My guess is that he still lives in that little ranch in Chester.

$1.5B.

Take home in TN would be right about $550 Mil.
I would take 10 of my closest friends, mine and my wife's, her siblings and mine for another 10 and give them all $5 mil each.
Here you go, Invest it, buy a house and cars with it, hookers and blow, I don't care. Don't ever say I never gave you nothing and don't come crying for more.
Now I'm down to $450. Invest $350 million and let it ride for 5 years at least.
The other $100 mil, I figure 3 houses. One in TN, one in FL on the water and another in MT or ID. Maybe WY. for about $15 mil each. Thinking more along the lines of construction techniques (Insulated Concrete Forms filled with 7000 psi pea gravel concrete with sort and long iron fibers and graphite, Indium Tin Oxide coated glass, vertical wind turbines, solar panels, whisper quite generators and buried propane tanks) and location being the brunt of the costs rather than lavishness. leaving me with about $10 mil a year for those 5 years.
Yeah, $10 mil a year would get me by.
And if I invest well enough to be earning 10% on average I'll have well over $500 mil. I can then afford to double my yearly allowance and still be reinvesting $30 mil per year.

At that point my allowance in the $375,000 per week range? Yes, I would be a changed man.
Hopefully for the better and I would give much of it to hardworking people that could use a boost.

They will become aclimated to it if it's on all the time.
Retirees from Jersey will get pretty cranky if you play the radio loud enough to work!

All thing being equal, you end up with about what you say. If you really want to screw the Lottery and Unca Sam, you take the annuity which will pay you a little over $50M a year. U.S. can try to grab 30% but I'd give it to St Jude's as a donation and write it off. Every friggin year.

Oh yeah, I'd legally set up the BK and wife Estate and hand over the winning ticket with the estate as the winner. Ain't dying and leaving the left overs to the lottery.

So I was checking into family history one day.
2 brothers from Germany brought their VERY large inheritance to the US.
One was the rich playboy type who spent all his money on wine womwn and friends.
The other was a shrewd investor.
Stock market crash destroyed the investors finances while the playboy made enough friends to live comfortably the rest of his life.

There is probably a moral to this story but I don't know what it is?

Let's start an offshoot discussion of what we might do if we met Santa. There's only a slight difference between the likelihood that either of these events would happen which is still less likely than every super model moving to a single deserted island and only inviting @cheerupcharlie to pleasure them.

Goes without saying.
I have an uncle in Naples who was a fairly big time political type lawyer back in Mass years ago.
I would hire him to find me a lawyer to establish the trust and set up my wife, daughter son and I as beneficiaries of the trust.

The moral is...Fuck, I don't know...

But anyway, as I said, I'd take care of my friends FIRST.
Then invest after setting aside $100 mil. If after 5 years of partying...I mean shrewdly stockpiling ammo, batteries for my solar powered compound and heirloom seeds, and a bottle of Pappy or two...I'd still have my friends if the market crashes!

Big difference though.
Every couple of years I can fantasize about hitting it big and building a house next to Brady on Billionaires Bunker.

I have no dreams about santa.
