Penalties killed us . JD5 didn’t have his best game WRs and TEs dropped balls

That’s why I thought we weren’t ready yet . However it’s good to learn these things

This is the type of game where that additional WR would have made the difference! (It did for Pittsburgh-Williams)

You mean one more other than terry? So, 2?

How many critical drops did our receiving corps have today?

Exactly that!
A guy like Higgins changes the entire game if for no other reason, he's sure-handed and has to be accounted for. The drops cost this game even if you include the mistakes. (Fumbles, penalties, etc.)

Good game and if we're honest the type of game that the better teams in the league will put in front of the Commanders going forward. The defense played fairly well, and corner help was needed, but WR still remains a glaring need!

I love it when folks assume that the same injury that a player got with one team automatically means that it would have happened had they been with a new team instead. (Time and place)

Agreed. And they all seemed to be critical drops.

Let me pile on one thing not mentioned. It is inexcusable for a 15 year veteran to run that route short of the marker…and the refs screwed us with the mark…that was a full yard short of the worst possible spot.

Oops, I would be remissed if I didn’t mention Newton being the only person in the game, on the sideline, or watching the game that did not know they were just trying to draw us offsides.

I mentioned BSJ already. Outside that, a glaring need for a WR who can catch the damn ball would have been nice. Also, enough of Ertz already. He either drops the pass, falls down immediately after or cannot run over or past anyone.
We sorely missed BRob and Lattimore. Trent Scott was not very good when he came in either.

Pouring on some more here... To allow that many Steelers fans into your stadium shows locally the fan base does not believe. Crazy how many terrible towels showed up today. Not feeling Thursday as we got a bit beat up today as well. Blows my mind JD has zero TD's but I'll give him kudo's for no turnovers once again.

Hate to write this but I think Ertz is washed. His giddy-up is no longer there, and his drops at critical moments during drives are too costly to overcome against better teams. Does anyone know if he's having some type of physical issues beyond age?

Yeah, I think he’s seen his better days. Is he a one year rental?
