You can never have too many knives.
No word yet on what the compensation is.
Wow... 6th rounder!? Easy decision
For real. Sometimes all a player needs is a change of environment... Especially getting away from Cleveland. Even Mingo said it was a complete "culture shock" getting out of that city. Can't wait to see what the kid brings.Hell yeah! A young tall CB that just needs to literally get his head on straight.
Under the CBA rules, a player who gets placed on IR-designated to return must be on the final 53 man roster for 24 hours. I am betting Golson stays on it until tomorrow, at which time we will likely bring back Doran Grant (recently released) onto the active roster.Steelers updated CB depth chart:
1. William Gay
2. Ross Cockrell
3. Artie Burns
4. Justin Gilbert
5. Senquez Golson*
Golson is likely headed toward IR-recall with a lisfranc injury. But the team has been plugging 2nd round draft pick Sean Davis (SS) in at slot CB since he played there in college. So they have insurance. Pretty unstable group, but the talent is there. Time for Carnell Lake to prove whether he's a good coach or not!

Evidence that the Browns are still a black hole in the NFLMan the Browns are dumb. Just gave away the 8th overall pick from 2 years ago for a 6th round pick

The reports on Gilbert have been very bad in terms of his intelligence and acclimation to pro coaching. He sounds like an idiot. So, maybe it pans out for the Steelers, but any time someone gets rid of a first rounder that fast you have to wonder.
I think it’s definitely worth the risk. Minimal cost for what could be a maximum gain. Perhaps a change of scenery, a complete class organization and a coach that is the best motivator in the game probably, can get the light to turn on for this supremely talented athlete. Many a player has been near the garbage heap and given us quality time that otherwise hasn’t been harnessed. Pittsburgh does a very good job of getting the most from players in these situations, so why not this one?The Browns must think he's absolute yuck if they're trading him to a division rival. I'd probably say that it's a flop of a trade for the Steelers if it was anyone other than the Browns on the other side of it. Who knows....
