The open with Kylo going full rage through.

I liked it a lot and will re-watch tomorrow or Sunday but I've got some questions.

What was Finn going to tell Rey? It wasn't I love you because he has a thing with Rose and connected with a girl later in the movie so that was unresolved.

Rey's origin story. Being critical her parents had an extremely force sensitive toddler when the resistance ruled so why not ship her off to Luke then? You have a legendary Jedi trying to rebuild the old way and the son obviously realizes dad is a bad dude. Option A is send her to the path of good and option B is to dump her on a garbage planet. Palpatine's kid is a moron.

Aside from that two thumbs up. The movie was satisfying and the fight scenes were great. Every time Kylo touches his saber it's a key moment. I damn near lept out of my seat when Rey force handed off the saber to him.

Thought the movie was great. So much better than TLJ.

In regards to Finn, I've seen some people speculate he was gonna tell her he's Force Sensitive. The movies kind of hint at it as he's able to sense her presence, where certain ships are, etc.

About Rey's origin, probably because her parents didn't know about it. The galaxy is a large place and by the time ANH started, most people thought Jedi were a myth. So there's already a lot of confusion out there about what the Force is for a lot of folks. I doubt Luke started his new school and sent "university of phoenix" style ads to every planet asking for recruits. So its possible they just weren't that aware of it.

My favorite question though I saw from Twitter was someone asking about Anakin after he spoke to Rey (along with other Jedi) in the Final Battle; "If Anakin could talk to Rey, why didn't he ever talk to his grandson and tell him that the Dark Side thing bad and to listen to his Uncle". It's a funny observation but then you're like "damn, he's got a point". Guess Anakin is just a shitty grandpa

As usual the critics are up their own asses and pretentious dickwads. This movie was actually pretty freaking good, if you take out episode eight and just watch seven and nine it’s a good story.

Pretty much every plot point that was brought up in episode 7 that Ryan Johnson completely ignored in episode 8 was answered here and I thought they wrapped up the saga very nicely.

After seeing it, I think they are a tad too harsh, but some of the criticism is justified. A good chunk of the movie is just an exposition dump and a lot of things just happen because...reasons? It doesn't flat out ruin the movie to where I'd give it a failing grade, but its not great either.

I think it comes down to Abrams made the best movie he could given the situation he was in. It was clear he was trying to retcon some of the shit Rian Johnson screwed up in Episode 8 and the only way to do that was to get a lot out in the time he had.

Another reason why I wished this was done over 8 and 9 is we finally see Rey go through conflict and necessary growth. Of course now some people are bitching that the strong female lead being overwhelmed by Palpatine is glorifying domestic violence, but I digress.

Saw it yesterday. I liked it but I really am on the fence of "loving" it. It had some good parts for sure but Rey and Kilo just creeps me out a bit

I liked it, it was emotional had cheesy parts like the old Star Wars did it was a good ending.

Why ya'll pretending this is gonna be the last Star Wars movie. Give it 3 years and we're gonna have Star Wars X, then later XI and XII.

Two of the three will have a death star in them.

No one thinks it will be the last.

This movie fully illustrates why Lucasfilm needed a clear plan for the trilogy before the first day of filming on TFA
I like the current trilogy but yeah. Each movie was good to enjoyable but it would have been a stronger overall story if one voice had written all three films. At the very least the new Tril introduced my second favorite SW character after Darth Vader.

Even with different writers, there needs to be an overall creative vision for where the story is going.

This is the last in the Skywalker saga so there will be no episode 10 and beyond, but Star Wars itself is continuing it's already been confirmed.

The whole trilogy is forgettable.

Rey: Our main character has no story arc.
Kylo: It’s never explored what it means to want to be evil but feel pulled back to the light—- that’s not a natural concept like the converse is.
REY POE FINN: Characters that have some real on-screen chemistry are not put on screen together in subsequent movies.
deus ex machina all over the place.
second movie doesn’t move the story along LITERALLY AT ALL from the end of the first.
third entry is just a hodgepodge of new things, characters, powers, plots, etc.
LUKE LEIA HAN: old characters are completely retcon’d.
palpatine is shoehorned in to start the last movie out of nowhere.
main giant character motivations are told only in flashback , flash forward, memory sequences: wtf kind of movie making is that?
Trilogy is complete rubbish. Why do movie goers put up with this
