the beast wants to see it with her friends so im taking them saturday...i expect it to be bad after the last one but maybe ill be surprised

Oh. I don’t think I need to see spoilers to know that.
Ep8 ends in the exact plot point as Ep7. That’s astounding and impossible to fix in one film.
Also, the first two movies are so disjointed, and together so aimless, that nothing could possibly be a ‘resolution’ that wouldn’t come off as cobbled-together, aloof, non-sequiter, or all three.

It’s going to be terrible. They’ve already ducked up this trilogy. It cannot be saved. They’ll do too much trying to save it and duck it up even more.

I considered TLJ to be more like Empire Strikes Back.

ESB : Rebels flee Hoth to escape the empire

TLJ : Rey travels to a mysterious land to learn the ways of the force from an old, wise master
ESB : Luke travels to a mysterious land to learn the ways of the force from an old, wise master
In both movies, the jedi initiate experiences an event/vision with the dark side during their training
In both movies, the jedi initiate leaves a bit prematurely to go help their friends

TLJ : Rebel heroes encounter a charismatic, quick talking shyster (Benicio del Toro's codebreaker)
ESB : Rebel heroes encounter a charismatic, quick talking shyster, Lando Calrissian
In both movies, the rebels are chased around the area where they meet the shyster (Cloud City, casino)
In both movies, the shyster betrays them.
In both movies, the droids save the day.

TLJ : Rey confronts Snoke

55% critics rating on RottenT. And I read the synopses of the reviews, there were only two of the positive ratings that weren’t heavily qualified.
If those are the critics ratings, the audience rating is going to be dismal.
And after reading the reviews, it seems exactly as predicted above: trying to do too much to fix everything the meandering previous two Episodes fucked up, and fucking it up even more.

Rian Johnson destroyed the Star Wars franchise. JJ Could have at least done something worth while. He should have never been taken off Episode 8. What a fucking Disaster.

I will be seeing Episode 9 this weekend to finish out this epic fail, I just hope it doesn't suck as bad at Episode 8.

I had no problems with the new Star Treks. Alternate reality shit is fine as that type of canon was introduced in the older star trek television series so it works.
