Zeets with a very Zito-like outing: 5 IP, 7 H, 4 BB, 3 ER. If he can give us 180 innings at that rate, I guess I'd take it.
God no......I do not want to see Stewart flailing a hundred times by June. Take Fanchez out of the lineup, and 6-7-8-9 could get ugly on the days Posey does not catch (which is looking more and more likely to be closer to 50% of the time vs. any other number).
Anyone else concerned, or is it just me?
I'm concerned as well. A lineup with Posey at 1st or on the bench and Stewey behind the plate brings back bad memories of last year's ineptitude.
I hope they have the balls to find a roster spot for Sanchez.

bases loaded, no outs, Panda/Buster/Belt coming up....
No fucking runs. To be fair, two balls hit on the screws by Panda and Buster, but still.
Damn.
Chez3 another two hits, one xbh.
I'm amazed at how many people think Hector Sanchez should start the season with the team. He had *one* great year in lowly *a-ball*, and he sucked once promoted to Fresno. He really needs to show he can hit decent pitching before making the team. (And no, I don't think random ST scrubs qualifies as "decent hitting".)
I'm amazed too. I'm such a dumbass.
To be fair, Whiteside has a lifetime .218 batting avg. Stewart batted .204 last year. Why not give the kid a chance, given the competition?

Baggarly said:I’ve said it before, but I think Sanchez should break with the club to give the Giants a nice switch-hitting bat off the bench, as well as a third catcher for additional coverage behind Posey – at least for the first week of the season. When Ryan Vogelsong or Freddy Sanchez gets activated, assuming one or both begins on the DL, then you can option Hector back to be the everyday guy and get more experience at Triple-A Fresno.
Why not just make Sanchez the backup catcher? Well, the Giants feel he still has a lot of work to do to improve behind the plate. And he won't be able to do that while sitting on the bench.
