6 of Alabamans "national championships" are easy invalidated. 3 more are very questionable. This would drop their national championship total down to the 9- 6 range. Which raises the question of how much if their success was the result of a flawed and at times corrupt system or is in turn genuine . Take 78 for instance SC was 12-1 bama 11-1 SC beat bama that year. Bama "claims" 78 as one of their nattys . We could go deeper into the others too tho

And if we are going to start being strict about what selectors are valid when; The AP poll stopped being valid when the BCS came out if we are going to start getting bitch about selections and claims.

Deciding national championships in a reasonable way is not difficult. Here are the rules.

Pre 1936(before the 1st AP poll), retro claims based on math formulas are the standard. Every school claims them if they can.

From that point until the BCS started, little over 60 years, AP and Coaches polls are valid.

BCS = BCS titles
Playoffs = Playoff titles.

And using that method, Alabama has 14. The only one out of place is 1941 which is a formula claim.

So take 1941 away from Alabama, and 2003 away from USC(I'll give you 2004 because I can't stand that vacate shit). Alabama 14, USC 10.

Apparently, in 1965 the majority of people think your opinion was wrong. And in 1978, despite beating Alabama, the majority of sportswriters didn't think USC was the better team.

Deal with it is what the doctor would likely recommend.
