USC’s 2004 National Championship Team was the Best of Bowl Championship Series Era.
That was the determination by a panel of 32 Associated Press top 25 voters -- some of the 60 who rank teams each week.
The BCS Era lasted from 1998 to 2013.
The 13-0 Trojans of 2004 edged Miami’s 2001 and Alabama’s 2009 teams, both of which won BCS titles.
USC’s 2004 roster included Heisman Trophy winners Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush.
While under NCAA sanction/probation during the BCS Era two-year postseason ban, the loss of 30 scholarships over three years...the Trojans never finished a season with a sub .500 W/L Record

Couldn't let all that go without some response:
ALABAMA
NCAA Record 15 National Titles
NCAA Record - 62 Bowl Appearances – Including 34 Big 4 appearances(Rose, Sugar, Cotton, Orange
NCAA Record – 24 - 10 game or more winning streaks
NCAA Record – 19 seasons started 10-0 or better
850 Victories, none of which unlike USC are vs a high school team. USC likes to brag about not ever playing any FCS teams, but no mention about their 10-5-3 record against California High Schools. Alabama incidentally has never played a high school team.
4 Coaches in the College Football Hall of Fame – More than any other school
28 Conference Championships, 4 Southern and 24 SEC.
The only team with a winning record against all 14 current SEC members.
The only SEC team to claim a Championship in every decade of it’s existence.
9 Players in the NFL Hall of Fame
Alabama has finished in the Final Top 10 of the AP Poll in 38 Seasons
And lastly…if you are going to spend half of your post comparing your team vs top 10 opponents, how about using the more widely accepted EOY rankings. And you could try to make them accurate (you had Alabama at 59 wins when the actual was 65)
VS Top 10 EOY opponents (1869-2014)
USC 49-94-9
Alabama 43-97-1
Sorry Rolltide. USC wins this one. Tebow's post had moar werdz and included cheerleaders.
