This is going to be the hardest decision. Luck, RG3, and Wilson all have great cases.

I voted the someone else option. I know he doesn't have a chance in hell, but my pick is Blair Walsh, kicker for the Vikings. This kid has been unbelievable, making 35 FGs on 38 trys. He has made his last 10 trys from beyond 50 yards.

I forgot about the muscle hamster too.

Great class of rookies.

The NFL rewards two different ROYs - one for O, another for D. I was going to do this, and the ones for D - it's all cool, you got the right candidates, and I'll stick the thread later. If you do the one for D, make sure you get the right candidates (Luke Kuechly, Janoris Jenkins and Casey Hayward are top candidates).

Very tough call this year. For me it comes down to RGIII & Luck. Since I'm a Cowboys fan I'll pick Luck.

I agree, I think I'll lean towards Luck since they lost their HC for part of the season... although it would certainly be easy to argue that the #chuckstrong also helped inspire this season to greater heights for the Colts.

Think I'll still go with Luck though, because it is a pretty big deal to lose your HC, just ask the Saints.

I'm going with Wilson

He was drafted to be a backup, he wasn't a first rounder. He had to work his way up the depth chart, he wasn't given anything like Luck and RG3

He didn't have one solid WR on his team either, just a great RB

Lucks stats don't support ROY. Sorry. Too many INT's too low of a completion %. RGIII should easily win this award.

Mod: modified title of thread.

It was close between Luck and RG3, but I went with the latter. Both had big direct impacts on the success of their teams. Wilson has been excellent, but he has a better D, and more O-talent around him (MLynch is beast).

Luck. Very tough circumstances to work through, did more with a lot less, navigated game winning drives like a seasoned vet. Put any other guy in his shoes and I don't think they get as far.

I got Wilson hard charging to 2nd, but just barely.

RG3 is 3rd. He missed a game and his team won without him and Morris has helped a ton also. He's been great with what he's asked to do but I can't look past those two things when the other guys have made strong cases as well

who is NFL rookie of the year?

Seriously, should be a 3 way tie. Wilson, Luck and RG3 all completely turn their franchises around and make them playoff eligible. Every time I watch one of their games I think, "This guy has to win rookie of the year." Then the other ones play later in the day and I think the same thing.

Why does everyone say Wilson has the most offensive talent around him and proceed to name one player? Wilson has easily the worst offensive supporting cast of any playoff quarterback. His O-Line is much worse than RG3's, and commits a ton more penalties than Luck. Luck has one of the best possession receivers in the league, and a rookie who always seems to be wide open for a TD once a game. Wilson's #1 WR was cast off from Minnesota because they thought Devin Aromashodu would be better.

If Russell's supporting cast was so amazing, how was Seattle 23rd in scoring with a better supporting cast last year? I think the answer is obvious.

Also, the elephant in the room which nobody is mentioning (though I did in the other thread) is that Russell did not have a whole offseason with his first string offense. After Week 5, when he adjusted to his team, he has been the best QB in the league this side of Brady, Manning, and Rodgers. That's the difference between Russell and RG3, who have very similar stats factoring the entire season.

I'm merging this one with the previous one 2 threads above.

Thanks, I didn't see the sticky. Also, I completely forgot about all the other great rookies that you have on this list. Amazing class.
