****TRADE ALERT****

Confirmed trade:

Houston receives: Lebron James

Lakers receive: Eric Gordon, PJ Tucker and Nene

Cavs receive: Zhou Qi, Chinanu Onuaku, Brandan Wright, Lakers 2019 1st, Houston’s 2018 2nd round (#46), Houston’s 2019 1st and Houston’s 2020 1st

Doesn't work under the cap.

Edit: Maybe it does, if some of the salary Lebron is taking back is absorbed by unused cap space. Not a CBA guru. But if it does, it limits CP3's annual value significantly and potential to resign Capela. But straight up contractual value does not add up enough to get Lebron traded there.

Edit 2: LOL at the Lakers in this trade though. You have enough cap space to go out and sign major free agents and instead use it all up 24M in cap space on Eric Gordon, PJ Tucker and Nene? 10M more and you get Cousins.

It's not a sign and trade. So they can go way over the cap to resign those guys.

Houston has to send out at least $28.4M to make this deal work. The total salary is $28,810,802.

They would first have to guarantee Qi and Wright but it would work according to the recent article in ESPN..

Nice.

BUT LOL at the Lakers in this trade. If this is a real Hoop draft trade, whoever is doing the trades for the Lakers should be ashamed of themselves. Way to screw your team over.

I woudl've taken on Ryan Anderson if it got me PJ Tucker for OKC. But that would've only helped them for next summer.

But technically this trade would could NOT be completed until after the July moratorium. So basically this years pick I get I would have to tell Houston who to pick for me....

The picks don't add up though because you cannot trade consecutive 1st round draft picks. At best you could have Houstons 2019, but you can't have their 2020 because it's not eligible for trade via CBA. Also Atlanta owns Houstons' 2018 pick. So lots of things wrong here.

Well fuck that website then. I looked and it said Houston had it’s 2020 1st

I still don’t see where they have Houston’s 2nd round pick. I thought it was their 1st

damn, it ain't THAT bad, is it...?

Sorry dude, it's bad.

You just took in a combined 26M in salary into your cap space for 2 role players. A good 6th and 7th man. Gordon arguably might be a starting 2 guard, so if you want to look at it that way fine.

BUT, Paul George's max salary he could sign for as a free agent is 30m. Basically you took on Gordon, Tucker, Nene, Traded a future first round pick, and eliminated yourself from being able to sign a secondary MAX player.

So yeah, IMO, it's really, really bad.
