I still don’t see where they have Houston’s 2nd round pick. I thought it was their 1st

Sorry you're right. For some reason I read that as all 1st rounders. Still you cannot have consecutive 1st round picks from a team. Would need to be 2019 and 2021 to work.

Thanks. Yeah 2021 it will have to be. Forgot about that.

@Arizona_Sting we will have to replace Houston’s 2020 1st with 2021 1st. Thanks

Sorry dude, it's bad.

You just took in a combined 26M in salary into your cap space for 2 role players. A good 6th and 7th man. Gordon arguably might be a starting 2 guard, so if you want to look at it that way fine.

BUT, Paul George's max salary he could sign for as a free agent is 30m. Basically you took on Gordon, Tucker, Nene, Traded a future first round pick, and eliminated yourself from being able to sign a secondary MAX player.

So yeah, IMO, it's really, really bad.

huh kaay...

so 1 ok draft pick, one bad trade, though I didn't think it was THAT bad...

still have plenty of cap space for PG...

Yeah but Gordon you have Gordon till 19/20 and Tucker till 20/21. Also, Nene till 19/20. That’s 25M

So now adding those contracts to the projected $34.5 is about $60 mil. That is enough for PG. then you have around $10 mil to spend to fill out the rest of your roster. Good luck :finger:

Cleveland so far has cut their projected cap of 139M (with Lebron) to a little over 91M. They aren’t contenders but they got rid of a lot of bad contracts.

Yeah, but let me pose the situation in two different ways:

Situation 1:
Have cap space to sign TWO max free agents. For sake of argument, you get PG and Demarcus Cousins, which is entirely possible cap space wise, maxing them out.

You have
Lonzo
PG
Ingram
Kuzma
Cousins

Additionally, you have a 2019 First round draft pick.

Situation 2:
You have:
Lonzo
Gordon
Ingram
Kuzma
PJ Tucker
1 of PG or Cousins

No 2019 draft pick.

Don't try to justify this trade abomination. LOL. You getting the Lakers pick, while limiting their option to only get one Max free agent was genius. Getting better chances of being as high of a pick as possible.

All good, it's just for fun anyways. I'm just giving you shit because this didn't actually happen in real life and I can sleep easier knowing Lebron isn't in Houston...yet.

With the 29th pick in the NBA Draft, the Brooklyn Nets select ... Keita-Bates Diop, from the Ohio State University.

Responsible for propelling Ohio State to a better than expected season. Provides the Nets with some scoring punch.

Although it was tempting to pick Brunson, he won't be a star and the Nets are loaded at point guard.
Dammit
