Clearly we've been spoiled. Watching our beloved Giants all year, I spent plenty of time grumbling and bitching about the lack of clutch hitting and overall hitting fundamentals. Shit, we ALL did that. And for good reason.

But watching the inept pitching in the playoffs...wow. I now realize that not all teams have four solid starters. It's more one starter...and time to start praying.

I don't know about the rest of you, but as painful as it is to lose 2-1, I'd take that over losing 8-5.

What do you think Ron Roenicke would give to have either starters or the bullpen of the Giants, with the Brewer hitters? Those games against the Cards were brutal. Every time Milwaukee scored to get close, the Milwaukee bullpen would give up another four runs. It was sick.

I agree with the OP, but man, what I would trade for the Rangers lineup. I have a weird gut feeling they are going to put up some serious numbers this World Series on their way to the ring.

I agree, their O is scary. But I would rather have our pitching than their hitting.

Aaaaaaand game 1 of the WS was a Giants-style 3-2 nailbiter, with the winning run driven in on a ball that Beltran would've missed just like Cruz did, and Schierholtz would've gotten.

And we scored 20 runs in the first 2 games vs this same Texas team, at AT&T, in last year's WS.

Baseball, she is weird.

No...we scored 20 runs against this Texas team with the mighty Cliff Lee on their staff.....but you're right...baseball is weird...

I am rooting for Texas because losing two years in a row is cruel and unusual torture. AND mist Giants fans still have a small level if hatred for the birds from '87 and the rivalry that stemmed from that series (kinda like where we are with the Phils right now)

same here for all the same reasons above and a few more:

In a slight way, it validates the Giants accomplishments vs. Texas in 2010 even more.

A Rangers win = more egg on Cliff Lee's face.

And finally, f*ckin Oquendo

They'll be fine once they get home. If Albert Pujols complains about the dimensions at the "New" Busch, then anyone can. Their main problem is that they are swinging at everything. 3 walks in two games? That is Giants-esque. In their defense, it was a low zone last night, and that certainly makes it hard to elevate pitches (likely what the Rangers do best).

Getting that win last night definitely saved their chances. Even with the 2-3-2 system, it is hard to come back down 2-0. Fuck it. Go Rangers!
