Regardless of whether Lee is a "bitch" or not. He is, BY FAR, the most well known Knicks superfan. Arguably the most famous superfan in sports. He's been using the same entrance for 28 years. Regardless of why he is using that entrance of the VIP entrance, this was his normal behavior going to the constant shit show known as Knicks home games.

How much you want to bet that Dolan is personally involved in this and it is based purely on some pettiness by him?

The Knicks were already having troubles bringing free agents in. Spike Lee was a reason why players might go to New York. He actively recruited players in the past.

Maybe. But he's the customer. IMO, the Knicks press release was so ridiculously combative it is baffling. Instead of giving a big FU to Spike why not release something like "We deeply regret any inconveniences that Mr. Lee has gone through and we will work with him to ensure that he is still the No. 1 Knick fan in the world"?

Honestly it's just a dick measuring contest by Dolan. If Spike has used that same entrance for YEARS, it's well known to all staffers there that it was acceptable. The only way this changes was for a direct source telling those gate staffers to not allow him in.

So yes Dolan owns the team. Yes he's allowed to prevent Spike from entering there. And yes, Spike isn't banned he can use another entrance. All true. Doesn't make it less of a dick move by Dolan.
