yup

i dont get tho how mazz and felger dont like this trade...like they traded away a .330 hitter with stellar defense for a 40 year old has been.

peavys still effective and only 32, and under control til what, 2015? i do not see iglesias turning himself into vizquel with the bat.

mazz is just praying they tank so he can play "I told you so"...he's been predicting an epic second half collapse all year long...now he's just entrenched in his argument and won't budge...

Iglesias wasn't in their long term plans...It's bogie and either cecchini or WMB at 3rd....that's the plan, which means Iggy was a spare part they could move to help elsewhere...they did that...

So the president is delaying the employer mandate that by law, is to take affect in 2014. However, the individual mandate still goes into affect. Interesting, this Obama care was signed into law nearly 3 yrs ago with different portions kicking in at different times. Again, signed into law, a legal law in the books. So what gives him the power or right to alter the law, any law, just by him saying so? Can he pick and choose certain parts of a LAW and alter its course?
I'm no legal expert but a law is a law and this one was upheld by the Supreme Court.
What authority gives him the right to change it? I'm all ears!!!

Down, you first.

The authority that would give him that power is if the executive oversight ignores it. Who is responsible for oversight of the executive branch? Congress of course!

And they're complicit....I think Obama will get sued on the grounds you highlight...and will have a vocal minority in congress threatening legal action...skeptical anything will get done to correct it.

Remember...this is the same guy that pretends to be a fighter for the middle class, who also believes we should have a corporate tax rate of 28% but tax small businesses as individuals which reach as high as a 40% tax rate...

he's not fighting for your interests...he's fighting for wall street, like he has been since day 1...

And remember boys and girls, like Obama says "Just because you might own a small business, doent necessarily mean it's still YOUR business".

Chiefs OC: Alex Smith best QB

Updated: August 1, 2013, 10:02 AM ET
ESPN.com news services

The Kansas City Chiefs paid a steep price to acquire Alex Smith this offseason but according to offensive coordinator Doug Pederson, Kansas City got a steal as he considers the quarterback the best in the NFL.
"Ultimately, every team has to have a quarterback," Pederson told The Kansas City Star. "I think we have the best in the league."
High praise considering some of the star players that play the position in the NFL. Smith finished seventh in Total QBR, ESPN's quarterback rating system, last season (70.1). Peyton Manning (84.1) finished first, followed by Tom Brady (77.1), Colin Kaepernick (76.8), who replaced Smith in San Francisco, Matt Ryan (74.5), Aaron Rodgers (72.5) and Robert Griffin III (71.4).
"There are a lot of great ones, but over time, Alex has proven he can get it done," Pederson told the newspaper. "He's a sharp guy, he brings a wealth of knowledge, he's experienced, he's a proven winner the last couple of years, and he needs a team to embrace him."
The Chiefs traded a second-round pick in April's draft and a conditional selection in next year's draft that could be high as a second-rounder to the San Francisco 49ers to get Smith to be their starting quarterback.
Smith had become the hottest trade commodity in the league after flourishing two years ago, when he led the 49ers to the NFC Championship Game. The former No. 1 overall pick started nine games last season, but was sidelined by a head injury midway through the year.
That opened the door for Kaepernick, who sprinted right through it. Kaepernick played so well that 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh made him the starter the rest of the season, forcing Smith to watch from the sideline as the team played in the Super Bowl.

looking forward to peavys sox debut...saturday i believe
it has to be Saturday, as i will be there

Peavy joins my personal little quirky list for seen in person:

Schill's debut in a Sox uni; Manny's 500th and the wall climbing play; Papelbon setting the team saves record [all in Baltimore]; Youk's removal last season because he'd been traded

I was due for another asterisk

"You didn't build that, if you're a product of a modern public education, all your spoils in life are the result of teachers unions that helped get me elected, and have rendered 40% of Detroit functionally illiterate"
