I think it'd be a waste to not have him rusher the passer 90% of the time he's in the game. He's looking like more of a prototypical DE.
He's an OLB. He has no pass rush moves and can't disengage blockers, not ideal traits for a DE. His strength is a coverage LB.I think it'd be a waste to not have him rusher the passer 90% of the time he's in the game. He's looking like more of a prototypical DE.
Agreed but coming from different places behind the line I think will help him rushing the passer. After all he had success blocking punts that way so I have hopes for him but he should be a OLB to take advantage of his skills. He's an OLB. I don't know. 3 sacks in 26 career games doesn't scream pass rusher to me. We will see if he gets reinstated I suppose.Agreed but coming from different places behind the line I think will help him rushing the passer. Yeah but that came from being a part time DE. Let's see what happens when they can move him around the line be a little more unpredictable. Speed would be better used as power is not his game. JT did it well...I don't know. 3 sacks in 26 career games doesn't scream pass rusher to me. We will see if he gets reinstated I suppose.
If you guys remember, he played a lot stand up rusher in the "speed package" during his two seasons. He was moved all over the field and disguised pretty well when he was and wasn't rushing, still didn't produce at a replacement level.Yeah but that came from being a part time DE. I don't think that he had that many opportunities as he was only a sub. At OLB he would be out there more often. If you guys remember, he played a lot stand up rusher in the "speed package" during his two seasons. I was curious to know the sizes of some of the top OLB's in the league that play in a 4-3 defense to compare them to D. Jordan. A few of the players are 250 plus. Jamie Collins is 6'3 250 lbs. Anthony Barr is 6'5 255 lbs. Von Miller is the best OLB in the league. He's 6'3 254 lbs. When Jordan came into the league he was 248 lbs with a height of 6'6. He added muscle and gained weight to over 270 lbs as a DE. I think he'd need to lose a few pounds to play OLB (if that is the position the team is planning for him to play at)
Yes agreed sometimes athletes simply can’t adjust to added weight. I'd play DJ at OLB for various reasons plus it's a position of weakness.Jamie Collins is 6'3" 250 pounds but he is a tremendous athlete.

Sometimes putting 25 pounds on a great athlete does not equip him to be a DE. If D Jordan is a good athlete, he'll be much more valuable at OLB.....
Finally reinstated I guess my whining helped haha! At least he has a chance to redeem himself let's hope he takes advantage of the opportunity. I still think that he should be OLB...shut gronk down he'd earn his money. My understanding is that Jordan could have asked for reinstatement sooner yet it's still taking a long time.
