He's an OLB. He has no pass rush moves and can't disengage blockers, not ideal traits for a DE. His strength is a coverage LB.
Agreed but coming from different places behind the line I think will help him rushing the passer. After all he had success blocking punts that way so I have hopes for him but he should be a OLB to take advantage of his skills.
I don't know. 3 sacks in 26 career games doesn't scream pass rusher to me. We will see if he gets reinstated I suppose.
Yeah but that came from being a part time DE. Let's see what happens when they can move him around the line be a little more unpredictable. Speed would be better used as power is not his game. JT did it well...
If you guys remember, he played a lot stand up rusher in the "speed package" during his two seasons. He was moved all over the field and disguised pretty well when he was and wasn't rushing, still didn't produce at a replacement level.
I don't think that he had that many opportunities as he was only a sub. At OLB he would be out there more often.
Yes agreed sometimes athletes simply can’t adjust to added weight. I'd play DJ at OLB for various reasons plus it's a position of weakness.
Finally reinstated I guess my whining helped haha! At least he has a chance to redeem himself let's hope he takes advantage of the opportunity. I still think that he should be OLB...shut gronk down he'd earn his money.
