i dont think so they had watt hopkins clowney smith and others . KC wasnt drafted to take anyone anywhere

and as has been shown the team KC went too allowed there defense to become trash and has changed OC 's 3 x in 2 yrs

and that doesnt explain 4-12 with outstanding stats because he is elite according to many including myself
This is nonsense, I'm done!

i dont know what to say people . DW was drafted because he was the last piece needed to get the texans to a superbowl . he was hired to do that . DW absolutely did what he could to make that happen but the HC/FO decided a guys off the field romances were more important then on field production and got rid of him . they felt if we mortgage future draft picks to get an LT and spend in FA that it would help .

so yes the FO 's choices hurt DW and his record DOES NOT fall on him solely or his failure to do the job the texans drafted /hired him for

now with KC he was absolutely hired to get them to the superbowl . and KC produced on the field the numbers needed to do it . however the vikings FO failed to upgrade and keep in the type of defense that got keenum to the conference championship and that defense was EXPOSED by nick foles and the eagles . they failed to get a kicker in that could hit FG's consistently and that defense gave up 2 scores per game more then it had (about 10 more per game )

the difference is KC isnt the sole blame for what happened . the FO failed him . the vikes KNEW what KC was but they made choices that hurt them . KC's record in Minnesota doesnt fall all on him , the FO has a piece in that

but DW gets that from fans (some to total absolution) while KC gets a hard dick in the ass by fans and no absolution . why ? the numbers and records are virtually the same 1-2 in playoffs and around 500 in the regular season

why are we so willing to sell our football teams soul for one guy ? the texans thought they could stilldraft their way out of it with lesser draft picks . did they ? 4-12 and a total mess of an football operation suggests no

the guys who hit on a lot of our late round picks and RUDFAS arent here .

the guys in place here now are guys you dont trust

and our record for success in round 2 of drafts hasnt been stellar

Moving on... Let's say that DW, RW and Dak are all out of the picture. What happens in the following season that doesn't put Washington in exactly the same position next year (2022)?

They either get their stopgap or roll with what they have and unless there's hope for a truly bad season, they finish within the very familiar 6-8, 7-9, 8-8 9-7 window. Then what? Are we once again arguing over possible trades for a QB, moving up to draft a guy, or worse shooting for the next Tom Brady by selecting the ole' "QB to groom" in the middle of the draft order or worse, in later rounds? Anybody else tired of this long running rinse and repeat cycle? ("who's on first?" comic routine) BTW; a worse season could end the Ron Rivera regime or worse invite more input from Dan Snyder, keep that in mind.

There is one other option involving the tag (actually gag) routine that seems to be the norm in contract negotiations these days. Let's say that we are somewhat surprized by the performance of either the stopgap guy or one of the current QB's. Does this mediocre but stable sort of QB then command the going market rate for starting QB's or is placed on the tag ala Kirk and Dak? If that happens, this team is facing déjà vu all over again." to quote Yogi Berra. Anybody really want to go through all of that again for mediocre?

As you know I have been saying DW will stick to his word and the Texans will likely understand soon enough.

JP Finlay who has been in the no way he gets traded crowd, said last night on his podcast that he thinks Watson and R. Wilson get moved.

Both of those guys have no trade clauses though.

If the WFT really wants to make a play for DW (who's capital is now dropping after making that statement after meeting w Texans ownership), offer #19, M. Sweat, a 3rd in 2021 and a 2022 1st. That's my best and final now that I know DW won't be playing for the Texans anymore. I'm not giving up C. Young and reluctant to give up my Super Hero tandem but to get DW I make the move. I had offered a bit more a few weeks ago which included DaRon Payne if you remember right but Sweat provides the Texans with more wow right now as does pick #19 that they can select their own QB or parlay into more picks to stock the rebuild with young players. Essentially getting (3) 1st rounders and (1) 3rd.

Although I'm sticking to my original offer, the closer that we all get to the NFL draft the lower that cost will be to get him as teams will be convinced that he won't be traded and locked into other plans. To me, you new offer seems as if it fits that narrative if it plays out that way, Good call! :suds:

Clearly not enough! besides, Watson would then be going to a team without the one asset that he would want there.. McCaffrey!

This will also allow me to resign RK to a team friendly deal and he starts opposite CY. After all, its what RK wants.
