Yes, Peyton, like most NFL record holders, will go down as a much lesser QB

Lesser only than Brady. Eli will be so far down the list no one will hardly remember him.

It will be

1. Brady
2. Peyton

and somewhere in the shadows of the list little manning.

Comparing the games started and TD totals of Rivers and Eli seems dumb when you consider Rivers was Brees' backup for 2 years, he's been a consistent starter every year since. All the other regular season stats(YPG, TD%, INT%, QB Rating) favor Rivers. The only thing Eli has going for him is twice he found himself in the playoffs and had a nice run to win a SB. I'm not trying to say that those postseason stats don't matter, I'm sure Rivers would rather be an average reg. season QB like Eli and win 2 titles, but it's the one edge Eli has over him.

Eli is like Joe Flacco imo, solid regular season stats with some big years in the playoffs. Both have beaten the Pats in the playoffs twice, which makes them even more similar.

Is Rivers not an average regular season QB?

Sure i do, its a point i make when everyone calls Brady the GOAT, when I know guys like Elway, Marino and Montana would be putting up circus like numbers in an era you cant play defense

However, when the discrepancy is so so great, i cant just chalk it up to different eras

So you pick and choose when comparing era's is OK so long as it fits your narrative. Got it.

Yes, but it wont make you punch any less holes in the walls in your house every time his name is mentioned

I've yet to punch one. Unlike you I don't live vicariously through a sports team. Like I said, I enjoyed those two losses to the Giants in the SB, they were great games. I watch for the entertainment factor. If your favorite team won all the time it would be boring. You need the ups and downs, highs and lows. It's what makes it fun.

You seem to have an unhealthy love of the game and seem to fail to recognize that it's just entertainment.

If he's an average regular season QB, that would make Eli below average.

I think Eli might be, Eli's only qualifier is being an absolute assassin when it counts

Ravens fans claim the same thing about Flacco, but in reality it hasn't been consistent. Same with Eli.

So you have a problem with every QB that plays well vs the Pats?

This is a shocking development

I'd still say Rivers is above average, although I'm not gonna pull up stats of all the top QB's and make comparisons. He's had some great seasons like 2013 and some stinkers like this season(even with the 33 TD's).

Eli Manning is the perfect example why winning 2 Super Bowls doesn't mean you are Hall of Fame quality.
