Such a joke that this team pretends to care about character and guys who “love football” and we sign a guy who has proven to fit neither of those. They just talk out of both sides. We remain one of the few teams that takes reclamation projects at will as long as the talent is there. Hopefully Pickens toes the line for at least one season, but is anyone naive enough to expect that?

The issues with Pickens must have been well-known across the league, as teams reportedly “laughed” at the idea of adding him to their roster during the 2025 NFL Draft, per Jeff Howe of The Athletic.

“Word leaked during the draft that Pickens was available if anyone wanted him. Some teams polled by The Athletic at the time laughed at the idea of inviting Pickens into their locker room for any price, let alone a second-day draft pick. There wasn’t a lot of interest in talking with the Steelers about a trade,” Howe wrote.

So if for whatever reason. We dont resign (lose) Pickens. What kinda compensation (if any) could we get for losing him?
I absolutely dont understand how comp picks work?

As Jason Garrett's dad told Chan Gailey when Gailey said he didn't want Randy Moss...this is the NFL, not the Girl Scouts lol.
I agree that it's hypocritical, but it's also not like Pickens is a criminal or sex abuser

It's tied to what he signs for. If he signs for $25M or so, they'll get a 4th

Most likey a 4th round comp pick. If he gets a huge deal (think Milton Williams) it could be a 3rd. Best case scenario of course is he finds himself, matures and we sign him here and don’t have to worry about WR for half a decade :hope:

I’m fine with the move personally. I’d have done it myself if it was up to me. I just am tired of them lying to everyone’s face when they never change and never will. Just admit what you are and stop thinking you fool anyone. I mean we have eyes and ears! The list of guys they’ve brought in on second chances is like a who’s who of guys no one else would touch. Heck this year alone we signed an UDFA who had such high character that he spit on an opponent and drafted a RB who loves football so much that he quit football for a year and now Pickens who literally might be the worst offender of both in the entire NFL. All within weeks of them telling us how they have changed. It’s just typical of this team for 30 years now. Say one thing and do another.

I’m surprised they don’t just bring in Bond too at this point…

I think they most certainly want high character guys who love the game of football. Who thought they could an entire team of um?

The football team logic says Pickens is entering a much different offensive team and locker room from where he's coming from.

Pickens is 24. It's very possible that a fresh start may allow him to get past the immaturity...that, plus his agent telling him if he can ball out and keep his mouth shut he will sign a 9 figure contract next year lol. An agent who also represents Micah...Jerry better start learning ol boys name lol

One of the things that has me most excited to think about for this season is seeing what Booker, Beebe and Tyler Smith can do next to each other in the middle of our OL. It's going to be fun to watch if they can get the push that I hope they can. No more just hoping for an OL that can stand it's ground. Let's get some movement and start imposing our will a little. Damn will that open up the PAP to our two WRs if it happens...
