Hate to say it but Kearse has been bad this season. Lots of Penalties and not making plays.

Lease and DWilson have had poor seasons. I think next season once Overshown gets back at LB, they can play Bell and Thomas at Safety and save some money

The issue with these two is they are the same player with the same flaw. Neither covers very well and both on the field together is a problem in passing situations, but one or the other can be disguised. Add in Bell also being the same type of player and you have the issue of being small on run downs ( because of Bell at LB) and lack of speed and fluidity on passing downs (with both of Kearse and Wilson covering). Two years ago Kearse was the better player. Last year Wilson was the better player. This year again Wilson has been the better player again. Kearse is a FA after the year and Wilson just signed and has a guaranteed 2024 salary. Kearse looking older and slower. Wilson to me is still a really good player as long as he is the only "not great" cover guy on the field which means only two safeties or a safety better than Kearse next to him and Hooker. I think it is obvious which one stays. I also think we may see some of Mukuamu. I'm not sure what happened with him. He was great as a slot corner in the SF playoff game. Not sure why he isn't getting some run as a FS on passing downs. Passing downs next year: Bland, Diggs, Gilmore, Hooker, Wilson as DBs is pretty good.

Bell has excellent speed and could develop. I am unsure of Gilmore's contract situation. They would be fools to not try to sign Gilmore to a short deal to keep him another two seasons. Kearse probably moves on. So yeah this is an excellent group.

I think losing Diggs was very damaging to the D. Before the injury the defense was dominant.

dont know why this would be a surprise.
He hasnt played a whole season in forever.
His body breaks down every year. This being late in the season. Should be expected.
We are just gonna have to keep drafting OL & DT's until we get it the way we want it.

Losing Overshown was very disappointing. Then losing LVE on top of that. The Defense would have been better if that does not happen. LB has to be a priority in next draft. So LB,OL,DL,RB are serious needs. Maybe they can sign Pollard to a team friendly deal,but doubt it

I actually think that's possible on Pollard, maybe a 2 or 3 year deal. I don't think anyone breaks the bank on him
I think Overshown is going to be a star. Getting him and Diggs back will be great. I do think it's time to draft a LT and without question, I would look for a big time WR. Cooks and Gallup can't beat man coverage. DT remains a big need. We will have one of the best rosters going into next year as well, but we can't afford another bust of a draft like we have had this year. The only real impact rookie we have is Dan Bailey Jr

Let that sink in 9 1/2 games since an OL was called for holding one of the best pass rushers in the league and for sure the quickest edge in the league. I just think Micah is so good that when he is held but keeps moving forward the refs don't call it because it doesn't "look bad" because of his insane athletic ability

The officiating this season has gone from bad to downright laughable. If a team is playing the Chiefs or Eagles and someone makes a 3rd down stop, I just wait for the late flag that's sure to come

This is nothing new though. A similar thing happened the year Zeke Elliot got suspended.

Parson been complaining about the refs all season and this is their payback I would assume. Total bias. We see these blatant holds on the defense and then when the offense takes over they throw holding flags all game on us that borderline

These games are getting hard to watch due to the biased refs.
