Cowboys may have a decision to make like last season. BPA or picking based off of need. The way I see it picking either Pitts,Chase or even Slater does not help the Cowboys any closer to the Superbowl in 2021 , iespecially if the defense continues to suck. My preference is to select either horn or Surtain at pick 10.

First off, 4.39 isn't fast. It's lightning fast. He is 6'3" 245 or a little bigger than Jaylon (according to first google return for both so who knows)

He is not at all known for getting flung around or knocked on his ass so I'm not sure where you got that. All that being said, I don't trust Pro Day 40 times. A lot of them seem even more questionable this year than in prior years. But damn that list has some big boys moving quick. For a point of reference Roquan Smith ran a 4.52 (at 236lbs) and was drafted early in big part because of his speed. That tells you what a LB running a 4.39 is. But, I'm guessing Parsons is more a 4.45 guy maybe? I'm just skeptical of these Pro Days
It seemed like Parsons was only used to stop the run or rush the passer.. his play speed looks like 4.4. But can he cover? He may be able to,but I am not sure. I think his speed is comparable to Jaylon pre injury

I agree & understand that pro day times arent exactly accurate.

I wasnt insinuating the things I asked. I literally were asking those questions because I dont know who the guy was at all. I was merely looking for info to paint the picture of this guy. (which you gave me)
typically you dont see a 245 lb man running sub 4.4. So I wondered if he was undersized for a LB. Which some guys could get away with in college but be much harder in the NFL.
I remember Simmons being very fast, but a lot of teams talked about playing him at safety in the NFL.
That size & speed is pretty freakish.

and Pitts at 4.44 at 6'6" 246lbs. Imagine a guy like that playing in the 50's?

Jonny Unitas would have records that still would not be broken with that guy ;)

We are not close to SB contending
I pick the BPA and crack a cold one

Exactly. This is exactly why we should have brought in another CB via free agency (and still may). Too many fans get caught up on filling a weakness in the draft and while that is of course one of the main goals (and we wil do it at some point at CB), you absolutely at #10 overall better take the best player unless the player at the position of need is pretty close on your board. At #10 you are looking for potential HOFers. What we did with Lamb last year will help this team for a decade. If the same happens this year with a guy the scouts love like maybe Chase or Pitts, you happily make that pick and pass on need.

He is expected to be a complete 3 down player. Will he be any good? I think he will be really good with the potential to change our entire defense, but I'm sitting behind a desk for a living, not scouting players :suds:

With all the jockeying for those upper picks, we are going to have an opportunity to move out of #10. Just how far and what we get back in return will be key. I don't think Pitts will make us that much better on offense, even IF he becomes some all-time great weapon. We are already a top 5-10 offense. We could put up the most points per game ever and still come crashing back to earth because we can't stop the other team. We've had the BPA discussion many times and it is great in a vacuum. BPA within the range of needs is the optimum way to build, but we also need to be able to game the field if situation calls for it. I'd love an extra 3rd to move back like 4 spots because someone wants an offensive player or an extra 2 if (specifically) Miami comes calling from 18. But we all know who is running the show and he wants to be front page news.

Smith got older, gained weight, and lost half a step. Nolan deserved to be fired for not playing Gregory more.
agree but i would still like to see the Cowboys either re-sign Smith or sign a free agent like Beasley as a back up for Gregory

I'm not a fan of hypothetical trades. I would need to know who was available and who was on our draft board. If there was a player there that we loved, no way. We need impact players not volume players.

Assuming there was no one we loved I would think about it but If they want a QB, I'm not giving them back a 3rd. For #15 and their second I would do it if we had a handful of guys ranked about the same left on our board and felt comfortable we'd get one at #15.

Here is a scouting report on Kazee written by, I can only assume, Kazee himself...

Yeah, this writeup matches a guy that just signed a one year $1M deal...:L

If Trey Lance is the 5th QB taken then yes without flinching. Pitts, Chase & Waddle would be gone and some combination of OT/DE/Smith in the other 2 slots. 4 more until we'd be on the clock: Smith, Parson, DE, OT, 2CB all just sitting there. I like my odds either a OT, DE, or CB is there at 15.

With 15, 44 and 46 we could go CB, OT and S.

of course it won’t happen

Whether Dline or Online, that second round pick is ripe for a lineman. OT at 10 (or 15) would make for some shifting along the line, but would be a needed fallback for Tyron.
