If you were starting a game this evening against Alabama and you could only start a QB from the B1G, who would that QB be?

Right now, Haskins. He's looked the best but Ohio State really hasn't played anyone yet. I'm excited to see Haskins all season long & he very well could be the best QB in the conference. But for me I haven't seen enough to say that for sure. He's off to a crazy start though.

He hasn't played two tough defenses, but he's been amazing. It's also not like we're facing UConn or UTEP or something. I think he continues his tough play this weekend against TCU.

Honestly I'd still take McSorley as I've seen him lead multiple game winning drives in tight games. That said my opinion is subject to change

Last season Oregon State gave up more points per game than both UConn and UTEP.

Going by 2016/2017, this is entirely fair. However, he's looked real shaky this year, as I thought he would without his offensive coordinator and all the firepower he lost.

He'll answer any remaining questions if he has a good game against the Horned Frogs. Gary Patterson's a damn good HC & his teams usually play tough D. I'm looking forward to the game.

Still though. Took them down to tie in game 1 then won it in OT and played ok in bad weather vs Pitt. You're never going to be as good without Barkley as you were with him but if you give me the option RIGHT NOW I'm still taking McSorley. Of course its also just week 2 lol

But you also have to assume everything else is the same. Haskins has a significantly better surrounding cast than anyone else in the conference.

I'm interested in seeing how the crowd winds up looking. I know OSU travels really well but this is a home game for TCU, to be fair.

I gotta feeling BuckeyeNation will be well represented.

They shouldn't have been in that spot though. I'm interested to see what happens with PSU this year. I knew they'd take a step back, but at least they've got all their tough games at home.

True, but these are the same guys that were here last year, and the offense wasn't humming like this for most of the year, even against the bad opponents. This weekend will be the test. If he goes down to Dallas and lays an egg, I'll eat crow. However, I wouldn't be shocked if he winds up with a hell of a stat line by the end of it.

Name the 5 starters and show how their stats were better and not just more. Because before this year started, Haskins' career stat line was 40/57, 70% comp, 4 TD/1 INT, and a 174.1 rating, including a massive road comeback against one of the top defenses in the nation.

Trace McSorely 284/427 66.5% 3570yds 28/10
Brian Lewerke 246/417 59% 2793 20/7
Clayton Thomson 262/434 60.4% 2844 15/12
Alex Hornibrook 198/318 62.3% 2644 25/15
Nate Stanley 196/351 55.8% 2437 26/6

Of course their numbers will be better because they played more. But that’s why it’s absolutely ridiculous to say a guy that went 40/57 on a 70% completion rate and 4/1 TD ratio is better than any of those other guys when you did. However had you said he has the potential to be, not be person would argue.

If I get the rest of tOSU's offense I think I go with McSorley today. by playoff time I might slot Haskins. If I had to play Alabama tonight I would want the experienced hand. I have Haskins on my fantasy roster, in a start two qb setup, but he is riding the bench behind Murray and my homer pick.

Any list that says Hornibrook is better than Haskins is immediately suspect. I would start Tate Martell 100/100 before I trotted that 1 trick pony out of the stable.

I know I'm in the minority on this but I think App St us a better win than Texas was for Maryland. Think that's a 10 win team this year

Yeah, that doesn't make them better. Again, I said better, not more. I'd seen all I needed to from Haskins to know he was the best. He's going to make these numbers look pedestrian. LOL he's 6 TDs behind Thorson's entire season TD output through 2 games. The fact that you included several of these guys cements my assertion that I just know more about Haskins - and actually, the B1G in general - than you do.

I don't think that's unfair, Appy is a solid program. They don't have the recruiting star rankings Texas does, but they're definitely better coached. However, Penn State should be way better than Maryland (which they might be), so it's a bit of a rough comparison in that aspect.

He also included Clayton Thorson, with his 15 TD/12 INT stat line as being better. Ridiculous.
