It has been that time for a while, now. Which does suck.

What's the point if Bruce gets to preside over the rebuild?

I seriously like my plan. Cut all big price players eat the cap space, all in the while tanking for tua or Fromm 2020 and clearing some cap. This team needs to get younger, faster

Nothing else matters until Bruce is gone. He'll continue to hire guys he knew in Tampa and continue to bungle the QB position.

It was time to start talking QB in the draft the second we knew cousins was gone.

We could've grabbed one of the promising options last year.

Now a year later we're stuck paying a broken QB and staring a weak QB class in the face.

I actually loved the Payne pick. I would not have been upset with Smith if we had not traded for him then sunk so much money into him.

I actually like Herbert and Lock in this years draft.. but I dont think we get one of them without out trading up.

So who are the QBs in the draft?

Justin Herbert, Oregon. Pretty widely considered the top guy but rumored to be returning to school. Also if he does come out pretty much a lock for a top 5 (or 1) pick that we won't have.

Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State. Probably the best chance to push Herbert for QB1 status. But also likely to stay in school. Maybe Meyers retirement will change that.

Drew Lock, Missouri. Seems like a guy being pushed up because he might be the top guy by default. Good arm supposedly but not sure he's really all that good a QB.

Will Grier, WVU. Leads a wide open WVU offense but not sure he has the arm to be a franchise QB. Interested to watch more of him though. Draft folks seem to be pretty down on him but WVU folks are convinced he's the next big thing.

Also have guys like Daniel Jones from Duke, Ryan Finley from NC State, Shea Patterson from Michigan and Tyree Jackson from Buffalo.

That was my plan exactly. As you all know by now I was willing to name the guy that we should have gotten to start this year, picked up our future starter, sit him for that year to get him up to NFL speed and go from there.

What I DO NOT want now is a QB statue (One without wheels) who stands in the pocket and gets rid of the ball. I really don't care how quickly he does that either, because that added element of having to account for a QB's ability to run is making these old school QB a thing of the past.

I liked the Payne pick too don't get me wrong.

But Smith was never going to be the answer. As soon as cousins walked we needed a QB.

Doesn't mean we had to force it last year but both Rosen and Jackson were available to us at minimal cost.

Here's something to consider guys: If the draft was held today the top 4 teams picking don't need QB's.
