Ive actually seen Watson called a faster Kirk Cousins.

I have also seen him call a QB in the mold of Rg3. Now I know he falls some where in the middle. But that comparison to me is sort of like saying a more stable Casey Anthony..... Just rather not go there.

I'll give you the 2nd pick in this year's draft for Kirk.

Skins take that 24m, buy a defense, draft Fournette @2 and Watson @17. Would you be pissed, happy or intrigued?

I think I could get more for cousins, but if I have to stick to the title theme I'd do it.
Its perfect chaos for the off-season, I'd have a possible elite back in my offense, and a QB i know at least can game manage and scramble. Cousins only real crime in D.C. is that he doesn't make a good face.
Synder probably doesn't look at him as a main attraction, and these younger guys probably would sell more tix.
Gruden now has even less of a chance to even make it through his original contract.

SO basically what you are saying is, Kirk as a 4th round pick just isnt cool enough to be the starter in DC.

Mind you I agree with you. And that this is the biggest reason more people have not been wondering why we didnt resign him long term last year.

Oh if Kirk leaves, Gruden won't be far behind. It will represent a total shift in offensive philosophy on the part of Scot.

Agreed. IM just hoping our GM doesnt let reading the press clippings on how uber smart he is, allow him to set this team back in a wash, rinse, repeat mode.

I dont think thats something we can predict.

With 100% asurity, no. But he akin to Robert Griffin or other often-injured QBs. I think it's a safer bet that he does get layed up more than he doesn't.

OK Shark, we both agree worst case scenario is moving on from Kirk, but for argument's sake, what compensation could you stomach if that's what Scot did?

I could live with a high first and a third, and Scot's notarized letter that if this team doesnt have a Lombardi by 2020 he will resign and go pay the Browns $13M a year to be their GM.

IM a fair person after all.

It would take #2 overall this year and sf's #1 next year for me to stomach it, and I'd still be skeptical.

I think some are hoping Kyle goes to the Niners and goes all fatal attraction/I would do any thing for you over Kirk.

NO, Sean McVey is with the Rams. Kyle hasnt landed another gig yet.

And The Rams are NOT going to trade for Kirk after what they gave up to get Goff last year.

The Niners on the other hand, might need a new QB depending on who the coach is.

He would have to sweeten the pot a bit in terms of compensation, then I'd be very much intrigued. Now if Cleveland after learning of this offer came to us with the 1st and flipped their 12th for our 17th for Kirk and all else worked out we could trade one of them down and still get those guys, not so sure that Fournette is better for us that Mixon despite Mixon's mistake.

Colt's never played a complete 16 game season in his 7 year career. The closet he got was his 2nd year and playing/starting 13 games. Since that time, 2011, the only other time he started was dfor the Skins in 2014 and that only last 4 games after subbing in for Cuz in the Tenn game.

Colt isn't the answer as a back up really, not if he had to play more than half a season imo, nevermind being a statrter for a full season.

I've been saying this for a long time now, to repeat, even if Kirk is retained, we still need to upgrade at back-up QB. The only caveat is if someone here has some inside information on Nate Sudfield......anyone?.....Bueller?

I mean if you feel Mixon is your guy and you could live wit all the BS that would come with it, you could take Allen @2 and get Mixon in the 6th or 7th. That kid can run, but it would be a PR nightmare. You never know. Crowder and Galette have a history when it comes to stuff like this and it didn't stop Scot, but then again it wasn't on tape either.

The cost of KC, if that's what GMSM is thinking of doing, should be 2 first round picks. Not 1.

If SF wants to give the redskins the #2 pick in the draft this year, and their #1 in the draft next year for KC, then it's something to consider. First of all, the niners are going to be pretty bad next year too, regardless of if they have KC. They have no running game, really, no TE, and no quality pass catchers. Their defense is not good.

You could go 9-7 with Kaepernick, perhaps, the Niners #2 pick, the redskins #17 pick in the draft, AND the money saved from signing KC to a long term deal, maybe though...

exactly, we gain a lot of flexibility with a draft haul like that and with the additional savings become real player in Bell, Berry et al. free agency sweepstakes!

It would take two #1 for me too. One would have to be a top 5 pick.
