There is NO WAY the redskins should trade KC for one #1 pick, and they shouldn't take less compensation than the 2 #1 picks that they are entitled to if they give him the non-exclusive franchise tag.

To be perfectly honest, if KC is going to demand an unreasonable salary, then I'm starting to think the Redskins ought to slap him with the non-exclusive tag, tell all the teams that are looking for qbs that it'll cost them two consecutive #1 picks (as in "not your two #1 picks in this draft, Cleveland"), and let the market set the rate for him.

I know Cleveland has a fuckload of cash, and a pressing need for a qb, and if KC wants $24million a year and $60million guaranteed to toil in cleveland, I think the redskins should say, "good luck and see you later." Have fun throwing to nobody behind a shitty oline.

Don't cut off your nose to spite your face. Carefull, we're not that far removed from Beck and sexy Rexy. SF'S 1 this year and next is something I could live with, but only after it had become clear that Kirk was unwilling to sign long term here no matter what we put in front of him and he was just waiting us out so he could go to LA, or SF and be with guys who have been in his corner from day 1.

man I agree with these last post completely as well. I also don't think its farfetched to see two #1's for Cousins.
Sticking with the OP's theme, I don't think the SF fanbase can stomach another awful season, and Kyle although extremely knowledgable offensively...has little patience for errors.

I hate to see Kirk lowballed, but I really have a problem with this guy possibly pushing for 24+ a year
when there was some regression. There could be more with McVay gone.

Some here are saying that there was improvement from Kirk, you say regression, to be factual you said some regression, no judgement but what did you see in terms of regression? Thanks!

A minute detail...He lead the team in passing and rushing TDs last year, also he shares the blame in winning less games this year.

There was no regression. It is just simply a matter of Cousins still having a tough time winning must games for whatever reason. This was masked somewhat last season since they had a much easier schedule & very few of these must win type situations against good teams.

He still has potential to be one of the top QBs in the game - not Brady or Rodgers but very good. You need to keep this in mind as you are considering college QBs who could be as good or better but also could be complete busts. People get enamored by the Prescott situation, but that is more the rule than the exception & we still don't know if Prescott will thrive long term.

NO, Sean McVey is with the Rams. Kyle hasnt landed another gig yet.

And The Rams are NOT going to trade for Kirk after what they gave up to get Goff last year.

The Niners on the other hand, might need a new QB depending on who the coach is.

I blame the kids. There was a time when I would get frustrated and need them all in one place. I would simply say Damn it boy, front and center to get them all there. Better than calling all four by name.

He shares the blame after leading the team to potential game winning drive against Detroit and the D can't stop the Lions for a 1:05? And he shares the blame after leading the team into position for a game winning field goal but Hop misses it? That would have been 10-6.

Here's the thing about that, had the defense stopped Detroit and Hop made that field goal, folks would be giving Kirk all of the credit for leading this team to a 10-6 record and a playoff spot. As usual too much credit goes to QB's as well as too much blame.

I rarely do this, but there clearly WAS some regression.

2015 69.8 comp pct 29 TDs 11INTs RATE 101.6 5 rushing TDs
NFC EAST champs team winning pct .563

2016 67.0 comp pct 25 TDs 12INTs RATE 97.2 4 rushing TDs
3rd overall in division team winning pct .531

The losses to the 3-4-1 Bengals and 5-6-1 Cardinals were disappointing.
But the ONLY must win game for the team this year was against the 6-8 panthers.
We got severely outcoached, and Cousins took it a step further than choking, he briefly died from the pressure.
I could see why two #1 picks could be considered, at some point when you're making 24mil a year, you MUST win the games you are SUPPOSED to win.

I said he regressed this year, and he shares in the blame for having a worse record than last year.
The two games you mentioned have no relevance in my argument. And just to be clear....I mean those loses had no outcome on the 'Skins playoff chances near the end of the season.

I agree, we need to do what we can do to sign KC long term, but not at some ridiculous contract. He is very good QB, above average... some of that IMO because he has some really good weapons around him... but if he walked it would NOT be the end of the world. He IS replaceable. We have sucked so long at the position that some of us (and rightfully so) feel like if we let him go, then we will have another 20 years of Ramsey's and Becks and Rexys...have some faith. HTTR!

But back to the original question. For multiple picks including a couple first rounders... yes, you would have to consider it. And I prefer Dalvin Cook over Fournette, and he could still be around when we pick...Just sayin'
