Don't let Tgann know.

I wish I would have had my head outta my ass back then, and actually stayed there and finished.

Ended up leavnig, and going to Cincy State (great school, by the way) for a year+. Actually played baseball for them in their 1st season of having a baseball team (the program lasted 2 years because the Head Coach was a Royal A-hole and tried to take on Basketball there, which is one of the better JUCO teams in the nation, so...baseball got canned after just 2 years. I turned down a full-ride to return for my 2nd year and opted to Co-op instead it was so bad).

After co-oping through Cincy State with Hyatt Hotels, I left and transferred to Bowling Green, where I completed my BS in Sports Management. Got 3+ years worth of classes done in 2 years. If I had that kind of motivation (and mostly maturity) when I was at UC, I woulda been out of school much, much sooner, and much, much, MUCH less in debt than I am now for my education.

I really think no one should go to college until they are 21. Most of us piss away the first two years by partying and goofing off, and enjoying/adjusting to be out of our parents' house. By the time junior year hits, that's when everyone gets serious about it, and by then its too late.
At least that's what happened to me.

I totally agree. Too many kids today feel that they are forced to go to College right out of high school, and that path simply is not for everyone right away.

There are some, that is what they do, and they do well with it. That's great.

However, there are a lot of kids who do poorly, and never return simply because they were never ready to go in the first place.

I've always told other people when they are looking at schools, that if they don't feel they are ready, take your time, or even attend a local school and just take 1 or 2 classes to see what it's like and if they are ready. There is zero need to commit 100% until you are aboslutely sure. It's a lot of money and time invested, and you don't want to waste that.

...or not go to college at all unless you know exactly what your path will be. I would encourage any young people today to steer clear of college for a long while after high school. Too frickin expensive for shitty returns. It's a scam, really.

Pretty much.

I made 5 g's last night, though. I have a HS education. I think this makes me smarter than most college graduates. My snow plow truck cost me $1500. My plow cost me $1700. I'll be at the bar at 11.

Agreed. That is why I suggest taking one or two courses just to see if it's something you think you can handle, or in an area of study that you may/may not like. No need to sign up for a full load if you don't know for sure what it is you want to do.

Besides, if you land a half-way decent job out of H.S. many places will end up paying you, or at least paying for some, of your schooling.

This is a fact.

They had an interview a few years ago with some H.S. seniors and talking about college, and not knowing what they wanted to do.

The guy asked them why they didn't apply for factory jobs starting out at $18-20 an hour (more than some people make coming out of college), or apply for a trade job, that after an apprentice-ship could get you between $60-90K a year.

Their reply was "We've got to go to college. It's all we've heard all our life. If you dont' go to college, your seen as a failure. We can't take those jobs. It's not what we are supposed to do".

Our educational system has deviated the need/passion from students to employ needed jobs that don't require a degree, but experience, and they pay very well. It's unfortunate that kids are being told that without college they can't do anything, because nothing could be further from the truth.
