It's very early and things will change but how do you feel about the job the new GM is doing so far.
BM. Losing BM and for no return value. Grade D.
McPhee. Been burnt by to many part time players that fail when played as starters. C+ could be A.
Rolle. Upgrade/stop gap. C
Royal. OK guy at needed position. C+
Peae. Losing solid player entering prime. D
Cutler. Did not find way to unload. Pretended to back him after trade deadline. D
For me so far it's not impressive. Now the draft will tell us more and I'm not asking for a overall grade on the new guy, just on the moves so far.

well, it's really early. I'll give him a B-, but that doesn't mean much yet. I have a mixed opinion of our moves.

I'd like to wait until the draft to give my full assessment, but I like the signings so far. Noon, I really don't know what you expect from free agency. It's not like we're going to get superstar players with the cap space we have. We got an OLB that will fit the new system we are using this year. We got a safety upgrade that should hold the spot until we get a younger safety to take over. We got a reliable receiver who's had experience with cutler and can play the slot for us. We got rid of an apparent head case and locker room cancer in marshall (just going by what I've heard, I still liked the guy. He is in the decline of the career though.) I see nothing wrong with these moves. Depending on what they get in the draft, I think this can be a very successful offseason. Having said that, we need to see the product they put on the field before we can truly assess this front office.

BM. Losing BM and for no return value. Grade D. In the context of his tv program distraction and the fact we got something for him, I think a D is a little harsh. I would say C
McPhee. Been burnt by to many part time players that fail when played as starters. C+ could be A. Too early to tell, but his utility is appealing.
Rolle. Upgrade/stop gap. C As a stop gap, I like it. Rolle was productive last year, so as a stop gap give it a B.
Royal. OK guy at needed position. C+ Given Royals previous exp with Jay. B
Peae. Losing solid player entering prime. D Free Agent, wrong system guy, I'm ok with not resigning Paea, so an A from me. Now if the Bears were going to stick with a 4-3, then bad.
Cutler. Did not find way to unload. Pretended to back him after trade deadline. D Given the fact there are no immediate replacements for Jay in Free Agency or the Draft, keeping him seemed to be a unavoidable outcome. So, it is what it is. Nothing to be done.
Lack of willingness to overpay for mediocre Free Agents, Royal being a bit of a reach pay wise, B+
Coaching staff, A.
Draft, to be determined.

For me so far it's not impressive. Now the draft will tell us more and I'm not asking for a overall grade on the new guy, just on the moves so far.

Overall a solid B.

There was nothing wrong with him calling out cutler........Someone needed too.

And yes,it will take a while before we can actually assess what Pace has put together.

Really with the BM nonsense? Guy is 32 and a terrible human being. Both to have on your team and in society. Fucking joke anyone who can't see the writing on the wall with this clown going on his fourth team….

Yeah, it's just a coincidence that it worked out the same way every single time. Let's not listen to anyone who is actually in the Bears locker room either… who would gladly pay for his ticket out of town. There's no way they know what they're talking about… right? It's just a coincidence that he's worn out his welcome with every organization he's been with… despite putting up elite numbers, right?

An elite WR talent traded for a mid-round draft pick MULTIPLE times… this couldn't possibly mean he's a detriment to a football team? COULD IT?

Nope…

What a joke.

I don't like anybody named Emory..........Pace is doing a fine job so far. Exactly what we needed in free agency.... not over spending but utilizing the cap money wisely. His draft will be an early indication. Phil Emery's first draft was atrocious and I slammed him from the start.....

He got at least something for Marshall........that is an a+ in my book

Guy was a stud WR, best we ever had and under paid. If we needed to get rid of him I understand, but I don't believe for a minute that a lowly 5th is all he was worth. That is what is bothering me. He could have got more and really helped us. We stole him for 2 third round picks, we should have got that back or more. How nice would that be come draft time.

You said it best yourself.........."Guy 'was' a stud wr"

So you honestly think any GM would take the lowest amount in return for a player ?
you honestly think the gm turned away better offers?

So what did he do this time?

Its not like he was beating up the wife again........Nope,thats not it.

Cause he called someone out on twitter to fight?.......That's a no big deal item. No one knows whether he was serious or playing.

Cause he called cutler out?.........Somone should!

actually I thought his tenure here was rather good in behavior....and I definetley don`t remember much of team mates complaining either.(only the calling out of Cutler)
And what he did in Denver and Miami was awhile back, theres so many damn football players with those type pf problems....1/2 the league I imagine.

BM did nothing wong that warranted his trading that I can think of.

If it was to save money, sure,ok,I get it.Age sure,ok,I get it. But I think they should have found someone else to cut or trade away..........

Rating is incomplete until after the draft. I believe he is a glorified secretary for John Fox and has very little control of final player decision. Yes, I know he was told he had full control, but what he was told when he was hired, that was before Fox hired himself here.. So as long as the paperwork is in order is the only grade of an A that should be given. This is the John Fox show. No way a first time GM would get the staff we have, especially not Fangio. Pace chasing Fox back to Denver the day after the interview is still a big question mark. Pretty sure thats when he told Fox he would have everything he wanted.

The Marshall deal was lame. Only guy showing heart in a dead locker room, only 1000 yard receiver we can remember. Someone that wants to be known as a great gm would fix the issues, not just send them packing for a late pick.

I tell you all right now, I am worried by the lack of movement on signings in F/A in this offseason. We have a lot of holes, didn't bring a lot of players back, traded away one. Seriously, Tillman, Briggs, Paea, Williams, Conte all gone, Garza another year older, we are moving to a system on D where at least 3 DL is lost in the system (Sutton, Allen, & Young). How many rookies are we planning on playing? The Bears have brought in only 3 F/A so far, but one is replacing a non released safety. So, really 2.

Pace needs to get off his ass and start making a few moves or we won't have enough players to start camp with.

Tillman isn't gone for sure, the others.....good riddance. I'm glad he didn't over spend for players.....
