This is exactly what bad football teams (rebuilding) do. They always find a way to screw it up, always!!!!! To many penalties, drop balls, poor ST, no pass rush, bad luck and KC pick 6 (giving away point to the opp). You know guys a lot of this has to with character, confidence and just plain fundamentals.

The Def kept us in the game and we had a chance to win but like I said bad teams always come up short when the games on the line. Even though this looks like the same team from last yr there was some positives. I still believe this team needs time to develop plus we are lacking talent in some areas also. However it will be pretty interesting if this team doesn't improve from last yr. Buckle up guys this is going to be a bumpy ride.

This is a great read from Jerry Brewer. There are different types of losses. Some just hopeless. And some with glimmers of hope showing through. Whether this one is really different from past ones we will have to wait and see.

Really Breed, you wouldnt consider a guy who hit roughly 70% of his passes, didnt throw any picks and managed to only take 2 sacks worthy of a little bit of pining? Especially in light of the fact that the guy we took over him cost 4 times as much as wasnt even active, hasnt managed to stay healthy and even when he is healthy physically you have to wonder if he has something wrong with his head?? :)
No, I wouldn't consider him. He should have thrown at least 2 pics yesterday. He missed a couple wide open receivers that were easy passes. He isn't leading the fins anywhere. From what I saw, we have just as capable QB in KC. That's not saying much. I would, however , rather had him and those draft pics instead of rg3. Of course, this is in hindsight. But he is not a franchise QB and a 1st was to high of a pick for him.

For you its hindsight. From the moment I knew we were looking for a QB, I would have rather we had taken Tannehill. And I know every one wants to say well he isnt a franchise QB. But within the next three years Miami will be considered a real Super Bowl contender. We will likely be on our next coach, still trying to figure out the QB position ( and i dont rule Griffin out of the equation), and still likely the doormat of the NFCEast.

Should have been more clear. Yes, for me it is hindsight. I recognize you were against the trade from the get go. Tho I remember more of an issue of cost and not the player. I recall you were ok with rg3.

I guarantee they won't. I also guarantee they never make a conference championship with him as their qb.

Actually I was Not ok with the player or the trade initially. I will admit, he fooled the shit out of me with 2012 play, and I was almost a believer. But the moment he decided to throw the coach under the bus and start the media bullshit to force his way back onto the field before he was ready, I pretty much knew we had a head case that would bring pain and misery to this team. :(

Care to make a friendly wager on that proclamation?? :D

I think this year if they stay healthy Miami makes the playoffs. And within three years they are considered the lead dog in their division.

Yeah, we've seen worse QBs make the playoffs. Remember Rex grossman? If he gets enough talent around him, he is capable enough to game manage a talented team into the playoffs. But so can KC and a host of other 3rd tier QBs in this league.

I guess it depends on where you see him. Do I think Tannehill is in the Peyton Manning, Tom Brady zone?? Nope.

But i do think he falls some where above Joe Flacco and a step below Eli Manning.

So hell yes i would take him over anything we currently have on roster at the position.

It was 3 sacks I believe and while stat-wise Tannehill looked good in some areas, 64.7% comp percentage, 0 INTs, and OK in others, threw a TD pass. The Phins offense only put up 10 points, was 5/12 on 3rd down, had 256 total net yards, 226 gross passing yards/182 net passing yards, and had the ball for only 22 min n 6 sec. Tannehill wasn't terrible or anything, but those, at least imo, aren't handing a team their ass numbers.

Now Jarvis Landry on the other-hand, I'd say he handled some Skins ass yesterday. And Jay Gruden's 2nd half play-calling did a little ass paddling of Skins ass as well.

Sure. They could win their division but I think that's their upside. You need a better QB to go further.

It's possible but damn hard to do. Do you know how good we'd have to be to get there with kirk? Rex had an insane defense and Devin Hester. Same with Sanchez. Suhs contact makes it difficult for them to keep adding talent. If they make it I doubt it's because of tannehill but at the same time I think their team is what it is for a while now so they need tannehill to take another step.

I think he's with dalton. Too good to get you a great qb in the draft and too bad to ever win you anything. I'd take Flacco and Eli over him although Flacco is a weird ass case.

Please don't mention Flacco. That bastard sucked & gave the game away yesterday (not that I care about the Ravens) and cost me a win in Fantasy since my opponent had the Broncos defense. So - if we are going to compare like elsewhere - Cousins (& even RG3) were better QBs than Flacco yesterday (throw P. Manning into the mix if we are only talking about yesterday). Awful.

Tell that to the Giants, Ravens and Seahawks. I can think of atleast 7-10 teams that wish they had him at QB, and we would top that list.

You can add Luck to that list if we are only going to count yesterday's game :)

But thats the thing, we are not talking about just yesterday. We are talking about the last three years, and going forward. Every QB has a bad game. Hell there are guys who have won divisions and even Super Bowls that have had 5 INT games.

Tannehill has PROGRESSED every season since he has been in the league. Name me ONE QB on our roster that you can honestly make this comment about. And dont get me wrong, I actually like Cousins. But I think his ceiling is Rex Grossman. I think Tannehill's floor is Kirk Cousins.

Yep - how about that. That was due in no small part to the Bills defense. That is why I think that I disagree with where someone else here posted that the Dolphins would be the class of the AFC-E in a few years. I would put my money on the Bills.

Ummm those teams all have much better qbs? And that's my point is those 7-10 teams shouldn't want him because he'll put you in qb purgatory.
