So. . .Derrick Henry is MVP so far, right?

My man is on pace for a 2000 yard season, has 8 TDs, and is averaging an incredible 6.5 yards per carry. Yet, I am not hearing his name in MVP discussions in any of my, admittedly, limited media consumption.

Is Henry the best player in football, or am I on crazy pills?
There was a headline that Lamar passed Mahomes for the MVP lead.

It’s a joke if Mahomes was ever in the race

The top 3 should be Allen, Lamar and Henry in no specific order. Allen has 15 total TD’s and zero INT’s
I think if I was doing a top 5 in order it would be 1) Lamar Jackson, 2) Jared Goff, 3) Josh Allen, 4)Joe Burrow, 5) Derrick Henry

Henry even being up there is kind of a testament to how well is is playing. Goff is at a 9.3 YPA and Lamar is at a 9.1 YPA right now. Those numbers are bananas. Whats going on is unsustainable and a couple of these names will drop off.

The last RB MVP was Adrian Peterson in 2012 and that was when he came up 9 yards short of the rushing record. Before that it was 2006 with Tomlinson. It doesn't happen often, because it's become so much of a QB award.

Henry is going to have to put together a very special season to win MVP.

last rb to win mvp was peterson in 2012 so unless henry makes one impossible to not give it to him, he won,t win.

He's on pace to break Eric Dickerson's rushing record of 2105 yards. If he does that and keeps that ypc above a very glossy 6 yards a pop will that be enough?

Leads the league on the season. Of course, he hasn't had a bye yet which skews that a little (week 14). If you have him on your fantasy team, that bye week could hurt.
If you're talking TD passes Bake Bake has tossed 18 thus far.

But how can you be that valuable to your team if your backup plays 90% of the game and you still put up 40 points?
First Point - Carolina Defense with a game that was already turning sidewise when he came in at 10- zip

Second Point - MM played exceptionally well after knocking the rust off but it’s obvious that he simply doesn’t have the arm talent and accuracy that Jayden showed from his first game on the field vs Tampa

there is more, but these 2 points lead

Ravens were a top 3 team last year. Lamar was MVP, Henry wasn't on the team. In that regard, its pretty simple.

Real MIP might be Joe Burrow or Josh Allen.
MIP? Most Important Player to his team? Allen isn't throwing the ball as much this year as previous years, but zero INTs after 7 games is very impressive. And DAMN! @ Allen having 56 total rushing TDs and 15 last year alone. Allen's most impressive work might just be as a runner. I thought it might finally catch up to him by now, but I can't if it has.

The guy handing him the ball deserves it more. But he already has 2 MVP's and, despite actually improving again and being even better than he was just last year, he might not win the award because of that.
Is Lamar playing better or is this really the D's adjustment to Henry?

I don't see him breaking the record. I would guess he's sitting out week 18 with their playoff spot already cemented by then.

Even if Goff's stats were not as good he would be up there...Detroit is winning but his comp % is amazing and 10-4 TD-INT is still very impressive...can't disagree with that. I would put Henry over Burrow...he has been great though. Henry has opened up things for Lamar and really everyone. He adds a special dimension to the team.

Henry is leading in rushing by over 200 yards. On pace for 2,600 yards and 20+ TD's. Unless a QB has a ridiculous year...nobody is winning MVP if he gets those numbers

Yeah, Henry probably also is 'bananas' currently which would make him top 3. I was just remembering that Burrow also had that ridiculously long rushing TD to add to what he normally does.

If we're talking accolades what I think what Derrick Henry has done has actually started to push him into the Hall of Fame territory where he is so far ahead of the average RB in this era that he has to be considered.

I will also say that of the top 5, Goff almost has to regress some and Allen will likely throw some INTs at some point so if we're talking about betting favorites he is probably 2nd or 3rd.

Burrow, really? The Bengals are 3-4 with wins over the Panthers, Giants and Browns.
