Is it time to move past Tom or should the Pats stay loyal?

Move on. Brady is the GOAT. I’m thankful for everything he has done for the Patriots. But, I’m a Patriots guy first and what’s best for the TEAM. He doesn’t make players better like he has in the past. He doesn’t look the part of a top QB anymore. His play has deteriorated over the last few years. It’s time to move on and hope to find our next QB.

Head agrees with Chuck. Heart says stay loyal. Tom is the rare case where I will side with my heart. He’s earned my loyalty. He can roll out there in a wheelchair and play QB for this team if he wants to.

Don't know. As others have mentioned he does not make players better anymore but this year really does not seem to be all on him. Not that I wanted AB on the team but I wish it was possible to see what might have been if he had stayed in NE. Some of the drops from the receivers were purely on the receivers and nobody could've predicted all the injuries that took place along the OL.

I would like to see him around for another year but won't cry if they move on.

I can appreciate both sides of the argument... but if Brady wants to play; play him and get the man some help.

I think he's more than earned the right to go out on his own terms.

Loyalty is not a big factor when I ponder whether I want him back or not.

If he has a competent O-line and good or better receivers/TEs he will be fine. If BB and his staff are unable to straighten those issues out by next September Brady will likely get squashed like a bug or be mediocre again.

edit; *he will be fine* would better convey my feelings if it read "he is better than any available alternative"

Over twenty years he went to the SB 9 times and won six. The reality of that is that he took this team to the SB every other year and won a SB every 3 years. (Very rough average)

IF, big IF, BB can get a solid PL in front of him that can block, I think Brady could be a 60-65% passer. Even with a good OL, other things must fall in line. One of those critical things is that he must participate in all of the OTAs and Mini Camps. If he thinks that he's above all that, then he'll have no confidence in his receivers because he won't have enough time with them. Like I said before, he's a middle-aged man and he's thinking like one. It's time that he move on and enjoy what he's earned and put on the Gold Jacket in 2025.

I could not agree more. What's the harm? Doe anybody think the next guy will step in and BOOM six more rings?
No but that does not mean the team should not move forward because of sentimentality. When it's time to move on you do it.

So lets he plays two more years then decides, I am only 45 I still feel I can play, What then?

Love the guy to bits but only for one more year.
I saw to many throws behind to low or over the receivers. As Ken said missing the OTA's was a terrible idea.
Time to look forward. One more year and they move on.

Stay Loyal ... you guys are nuts. As a Lions fan, ONE playoff victory since 1957 ... let that sink in ONE!!!

You are loyal I'll give you that

I'll take loyal ... some may say stupid (I can't argue) ... bottom line ... if Tom Brady goes somewhere else and wins a Super Bowl, how would that feel!!

I don't care.
If he wants to play and Bobby want's to pay him, I don't care if we get the #1 pick the next three years.
We'll be stacked when he does hang up his cleats.

Behind closed doors, start talking about committment. If he is willing to put in the offseason effort with receivers next year, bring him back. If he is going to skip OTA's and Develin, Andrews, and a few others are moving on, it might be time to make some changes and a good time for Brady to retire. If he tells me I'm goning to work with whatever receivers are willing to work with him offseason, Send him out there for #7. Any signs of non-committment? Enjoy you retirement.....

Can he beat out another option?
