Your suggestion LTR begs the question as to what will be the fate of Pead? I think we will know the answer next week when T.J.MacDonald returns to the lineup and they need a roster spot unless they opt to hold MacDonald inactive for another week or two just to be on the safe side. There is a very good chance Pead will be cut.

I agree and he probably should heve been cut by now. I feel they are having trouble cutting ties with a guy they drafted to be the #1 back after Jackson was gone.

I believe this will be the tipping point for a lot of fans. Even the Bradford supporters have to admit that he isn't worth the salary he's getting right now. If he tries ( or his agent, whom we all know to be money grubbing #@#%) to get a top 10 QB contract, which he definitely isn't worth, then there is going to be a lot of arguments and dissention on both sides, and eventually some hard feelings in the end. Make no mistake---Bradford is an AVERAGE QB, and he deserves only average $$$. If he finally does start to perform up to expectations, then he can finally earn some of the money that he's been (over) paid from the start. Pay attention to some of the anonymous comments that crop up around the league----Bradford is not looked upon by the other GMs and coaches as an elite QB that is being held back by lack of talent around him anymore. He's being held back by lack of talent WITHIN him at this point. After 4 years still locking onto receivers, happy feet, poor defensive reading ability, wets himself in critical situations, etc. He doesn't have the mentality to play a real man's game. He's better suited for the slow, plodding college game and opponents he faced at Oklahoma.

And RamTim, please go into the kitchen and pick up a spatula and slap yourself in the head 11 times for even suggesting that Clemens is a starting QB in this league. If he was so great, why has he bounced around the league for so many years? Did he suddenly have an epiphany the last game and now he's "seen the light" and gotten 100% smarter? I think not. And besides that, he has followed that renowned offensive wizard and play-caller Shottenheimer around, which is a damning indictment in itself. Let's not over-react because the Rams won a game convincingly. Let's just wait and see some consistency before we all hold hands and sing Kum Ba Yah.

We need a QB, we need coaches, and we need Redskin losses, (and Ram losses if they ain't going anywhere) probably in that order if we want a better season next year. Lets not cloud the facts with sentiment.
I have nothing against Bradford and I do think he is a good QB. The economics of the QB has changed, though. Seattle and San Fran really got to take advantage of having a cheap QB that was 'good enough' and we have an expensive QB and we aren't able to sign guys like a Glenn Dorsey who provide depth when making a playoff push.

But Id also rather overpay for an average QB like the Ravens did with Flacco then be in a situation where you have no idea who your QB is.

I do think its funny that the Rams have gotten back to Jeff Fisher type of football once Bradford went down. Running the ball in the NFL is still smart as long as you have a good defense

There is no way on gods green Earth that Sneed is going to bring back a QB coming off a knee injury that might not even be ready for Week 1 at a cost of 17.5 million. If he cuts that in half, MAYBE.
I still feel the Rams will draft a QB in the first 3 rounds, but I don't see Mariotta,Bridgewater,Boyd or Manziel there when we pick in round 1, nor should we look at them honestly. I am standing by my opinion that we need to come out of round 1 with a OT and a WR, in some combo. I also firmly believe that when we pick in round 3, McCarron,Murray,Mettenberger,Morris and maybe even Carr will still be available. I also think we in fact should draft 2 young QB's and let them battle and let the best man win. Can you imagine Aaron Murray and say Logan Thomas or Kenny Guiton battling out in training camp??

Yeah, this thread cracks me up. There is no simple answer to this. We tend to miss the barrel a lot. It's wishful thinking at this point. Might as well just sit tight and see what happens.

I can dig this, but sometimes the running game gets stopped. And by this I mean, when you run the ball successfully you obviously don't need to throw. You take time off the clock and wear the D down. But sometimes, the running game gets stopped and every team needs an answer for that when it does happen.

and some times we have to accept that maybe that defense is better than our offense. Lately it's been the case with offense. Thank goodness for Z stacy tho, i dont knwo where we would be with out him.

That's a good one. Clemens is not a starting QB but things might change your mind like if Clemens continues on and wins games? WTF has Bradford done for the Rams? Nothing! Oh and he is also hurt! So we have Clemens. I would rather watch Clemens run around like a maniac, throw up ball everywhere and look like someone who has the attention of his offensive unit then a offensive unit playing fumble fingers with a QB who doesn't know how to motivate his team mates.

Clemons is Shotty's shadow! He follows Shotty wherever he goes. Get rid of Shotty and Clemons will follow.

I think the qb position here is a shambles. Pick 6 Bradford and throw it to the wrong jersey Clemons are all we have. ...and it doesn't help having and O coordinator that telegraph's all of our plays. IMO...we need both a #1 and a #2 qb. Well in this case and offensive coordinator as well. Getting rid of Shotty will kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Next question would be? Who would we replace him with?

Sam can afford to restructure. Having him at a much less cost doesn't bother me as much.

But KSU- Aaron Murray has a rubber arm and he's kinda accurate. Logan Thomas is not accurate! Stephen Morris has a cannon, can run, and I would love to see him in the 3rd/4th. Carr in the 3rd? No idea.

And we have no clue who's going where besides the first 15-20 picks.

precisely SJ76...Murray would be the last of the choices I would make in round 3. To me Carr is the mystery. Some mocks have him going ahead of Manziel in round 1 and some have him there for us in round 4. And I agree Logan Thomas is not as accurate as I would like. One mock has us choosing Kenny Guiton from OSU in the 7th round... interesting.
I would be extremely happy to see us get OT, WR, S and QB in the first 2 rounds , preferably in THAT order.
BTW, just a little self promotion. Anyone actually in the STL metro, I am on thy waves of air as I type on Y98...be on until 7pm. Buzz the studio and we can argue ear to ear!! 314-969-9898

Of the QB prospects I've really looked at, I see the following upsides:

Bridgewater. Top pick. Franchise prototype
Manziel. Top 5 pick. Russell Wilson type
Mariota. Top 10 pick. Colin Kaepernick type.
Carr. First round. Case Keenum type (who I think is a legit starter in this league)
Hundley. 2nd Round. Geno Smith type (Geno Smith can also get better)
McCarron. 2nd-3rd Kirk Cousins type
Murray. 3rd rounder. Andy Dalton type.

From there, I think you're rolling the dice and probably just getting a developmental backup.

San Francisco and Seattle do not have all of their eggs in one basket tied into QB salary. They used the extra money to make their teams deep, we need to do the same thing.

Now if that means letting Bradford go and drafting a qB, thats fine with me. Ideally, I would rather Bradford rework his contract to make it a fair cap friendly deal.

This restructuring Sammie's contract may become a reality the further we go into the season and if we start winning and Sammie is not so needed as he may be we start losing a boatload of games.

The question is; what does Sam (or more precisely his agent) think he is worth. If he thinks he is worth top tier $$$, and tries to extort that from the Rams, well then I would officially go from a "Sam dissenter" to a bonafide "Sam hater who I hope gets run over by the team bus". I suspect that will be the Sam Camp's strategy though. At least until they realize that the league doesn't think he's all that and a bag of chips anymore. No athlete likes to admit that they haven't lived up to expectations, or aren't worth what they're being paid. And with all the built-in excuses Bradford has, I don't expect him to be any different. Bradford is already a polarizing topic on every Rams board you visit. That would just add fuel to the fire.

Next time give me a heads up.. I will hollar at you for sure. lol We can get our own 15-20 minute segment on the upcoming draft.

Bridgewater. Top pick. Franchise prototype
Manziel. Top 15 pick. Russell Wilson type, not as smart with a weaker arm and nowhere near as humble.
Mariota. Top pick. Colin Kaepernick type with much better accuracy and feet coming out of school. Has the whole package. Higher IQ as well.
Carr. First round. Case Keenum type (who I think is a legit starter in this league) No idea?
Hundley. 2nd Round. Geno Smith type (Geno Smith can also get better) this is pretty accurate.
McCarron. 3rd Kirk Cousins type - also pretty right-on
Murray. 4th rounder. Andy Dalton type. Not as good as Dalton. I'm thinking Rex Grossman.

Next Saturday from 7p-12a my friend.... I will be there. Unfortunately, we will have to keep our discussion off air so I can play Miley Cyrus and Pink and Justin Timberlake!!:yahoo:

A few observations about your grades and comparisons on QB's coming out

1. Hundley will go WAY before Carr, in fact he may go before Manziel.
2. Where is Tajh Boyd??

Me personally I am campaigning for AJ McCarron to show up at Rams Park. Dude, while not super flashy, is simply a WINNER. Yes, I know he has had all sorts of top notch talent around him for 3 years but I also think the current Rams have the same type of talent, or close to it.

I was just responding to Clayton's response. I don't know enough about Hundley or Carr - West coast guys i have not seen much.

Taj Boyd would be a great pick in the 2nd! One can hope!

Sounds good man. I will try to remember and might throw some jerky boys stuff at you. lol

Taj may have just enough to scare some people off in the 1st round. Clemson struggled a bit mid season. But if he continues his tear and runs/tests well in the combine, someone might take him.

My QUESTION is: How many teams really need a QB? And how many QBs are there in the draft? THIS wil be interesting. If we can stand pat after Teddy B and Marriota are drafted, IF we can select our 2 in the 1st and then get Taj in the 2nd...? I will be happy.

Who knows. I never thought Keenan Allen would have gone in the 3rd this year. I know he was hurt, but still. MANY QBs coming out. Taj might be that QB that gets lost in the shuffle. QUESTION #2 will we pick before Pittsburgh? Will Minnesota take him? Will Tampa continue to win and use their 1st rounder on a LB or O-lineman, then go QB in the 2nd?

Lots of questions.

But Sammy Watkins, a safety, and Taj Boyd? I am liking this scenerio. And who knows? Fisher may not draft an O-lineman again.. Do we have to have one? I know it would be comforting for sure.
