You missed my point completely. The "we" you continually refer to is a misnomer. Everyone evaluates and places value differently. It doesn't make them right and you wrong nor vice versa. You have chosen to use one set of stats to support your position, that's fine. It doesn't mean the other person is wrong if they don't accept those stats as irrefutable facts.

As far as backing up my venting.....just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they are venting. It means they have a different opinion. After all, that's what we all do here, including you, express opinions. This is what folks are tying to politely say.

boy that "joy you and others can vent and at least back it up" wasnt finished i should have added still others dont

they are who i am directing my comments to

your o/line disagreement , to me isnt venting , its looking at a situation differently and the both of us not agreeing

venting is " we need to fire the whole o/line , they are the worst ever " that is what i am talking about, then you come back days later and say 'i didnt mean that i was just angry

as for facts , my facts that i accept , then throw out some tangible facts that contradict what is on cold hard paper or type ? the fact or stat is we are 3-7 . it means we are losing more then we are winning i dont see any other way you can take that

now our o/line is weak at anchoring in the middle the stats on chester ,monty and stiger show that

i am not using the force , or the eyeball test or a theory on that statement . its there in black and white

what else do you use ? in your mind our pass protection is bottom tier and i take it you get that by watching it . i dont see that . i see it as middle of the road by watching it and i bring stats to enforce it

do you have anything else that is tangible ?

qbs get hit , they have to move , teams pressure the middle . does that mean we arent avg there ?

Look voicing your displeasure is ok . falling on your sword over a point based on emotion will draw fire

and that door swings both ways partner . the tongue lashings have been given as good as gotten

perhaps you and i got swept in by the hype of last year and were blind to reality

UK cowboy came in as well as Pday and said we werent as good as we thought . they were right in hindsight

we have some good core players , we have had bad things happen during this tenure with injuries cba issues poor talent cap penalties .

but if people want to vent melodramatically then perhaps that opinion carries less weight when the rants dont hold up to the scrutiny of facts

in some peoples world as it comes across in vent land Oc's can never make bad calls o/lineman can never miss a block , qbs cant make mistakes and you apply mistakes as being the common place thing when in fact the stats and such prove otherwise

how many times do i get things dismissed as "garbage time " or on this play blah blah blah they got through on one of some ones "vents " and we spend days debating it ?

people call it not being able to vent . i call it calling you out to defend it . people say it then back it up and stop crying about how you arent free to "vent "

when i type something on this board i expect people will argue my point for or against it you wont hear from me too often that i was "venting " so what i argued about for a week wasnt really what i thought and all the dragging of your name through the mud was really about nothing

so vent all you want but understand you will get some responses with facts and not some melodramatic BS

I was NEVER blind to reality Dad but perhaps you were. I don't just watch football, I study football. Reality is RG3 masked a huge concern for us last year with his play. Our offensive line absolutely stunk last year. Anyone with just a little football IQ could see this. These guys were glorified for our rushing prowess last year however, the scheme and RG3 allowed this to happen. Now that Kyle & Co have elected to NOT run RG3 much this year (understandably so), the glaring weakness is rearing its ugly head. Your not living in reality if you didn't see this coming. We all knew Lich, Monty, Chester & Polumbus were the weak links. Due to cap penalty's, poor drafting and lack of an objective opinion from position coaches, these guys were left in tact. You reap what you sew and we are knee deep in this unfortunate situation. Perhaps things will turn around with regards to talent next year with some money to spend and a great draft, who knows.

I don't believe that is completely accurate. Yes - there have been big problems in pass protection & the blame can be assigned to several areas - blocking, RG3, receivers not getting open, scheme, etc. However - for the most part - the running game continues to be effective & it really has nothing to do with RG3. Morris & others to a lesser extent - continue to run the ball very well & quite often there are huge holes which indicates that the line is at least doing some things correctly.

I agree that changes are needed but let's not make it appear that they can't even run the ball unless you feel that the only reason that is true is due to Morris (which I don't believe to be the case).

Morris helps, no doubt. But our OL does fine in run blocking in this scheme.

a team with an awful o/line doesnt rank that high in offense 2 years running

and you dont think a brady , a manning , a Luck , dont help their o/lines

and i dont just watch games i study them as well and i believe you are seeing a few bad plays that are making you blind to the good plays that are made more often

we can get by with the o/line we have till 2015 draft if need s be

however if we can get a mack or beadles or both i am all ears

poor drafting? i dont think so . maybe ribeye at 3 but the others appear to be drafted at the slot they should have been .

Yep - that was basically what I was stating. You also see this in more limited doses when Helu is running the ball. With or without RG3 Morris would still be doing well & quite often has very big holes in front of him - he just knows how to use these effectively.

09.00 – Redskins at Eagles Game Notes

After his debacle in week seven against Dallas, if Matt Barkley had looked even remotely competent, would Nick Foles have enjoyed the resurgence we’ve seen recently? Now he’s backed up a decent display against the Packers with a very good one here and sits at number 10 in our QB rankings.

- The three highest graded players were Nick Foles (+4.6), Lane Johnson (+2.5) and DeSean Jackson (+2.4)

- The three lowest graded players were Ryan Kerrigan (-3.7), David Amerson (-3.3) and Reed Doughty (-3.3)

- The most crucial element to this win for Philadelphia? Putting Robert Griffin under pressure. With a clean pocket he was 14 of 27 for 243 yards and two touchdowns at a QB rating of 107.5. When Pressured 3 of 8 for 21 yards and an interception with a rating of 6.3.

- The Eagles defense continues as a work in progress. Despite getting more pass rush against a quality o-line than against every team so far bar the Raiders, they still managed to miss 10 tackles. Najee Goode has now missed six while making only 11.

- Integral to the Eagles improvement has been the play of rookie right tackle, Lane Johnson. After giving up over five QB disruptions a game through week eight, the last three weeks that’s plummeted to less than one.

according to PFF Rg3 didnt have a clean pocket on 8 of his 35 attempts so in 39 drop backs he was pressured or sacked 12 times

At the same time Jay, you have to consider those times where he thinks he can break contain but fails and holds the ball too long.

You also have to realize he doesn't always complete his drops...this was stated in the game against the Eagles.

This is by far the number one complaint I have about this team. It all starts with Griffin and the lack of crispness in his decision making, whether it's holding onto the ball too long in the pocket, or tentatively deciding to tuck and run a second too late. His ability to run is his greatest virtue in his dynamicism, but tip toeing to the line of scrimmage still trying to decide if you're going to run is allowing back 7s to collapse early on him is going to keep us from getting many 3rd and 8s that you saw Cam Newton get last night for Carolina. When you see Pryor run for Oakland, he doesn't see anything in his first 2 reads, and he's bolting, same as Cam, no questions asked, defenders backs are still turned.

The sooner Griffin mentally trusts his instincts, the sooner we can sustain drives and improve our 3rd down conversion rate, ultimately keeping our susceptible defense off the field as much as possible.

Obviously improvements need to be made on the other side of the ball, as well as in pass protection, but overall we've lost a few close games on what I consider the shoulders of the quarterback that are just a couple psychological tweaks away from turning Ls into Ws.

That right there is why I say our line is severly flawed. Yea they can run block with the best of them. Pass blocking... not so much.

Uhhh...the Redskins are 4th in the league in 3rd down conversion at 46.2%.

2013 NFL Team Downs Stats - National Football League - ESPN

I think the fact that the team is 6th in YPG on offense but 13th in PPG is the larger issue - it looks good on paper but they aren't finishing drives, settled for 20 yard FGs or turning the ball over in the end zone.

Minnesota? Kicked a FG from the 1 yard line. Failed to get it in from the 4.

Eagles? Turn over on the 6 yard line and 18 yard line at the end of the game.

Dallas? 3 Kai Field Goals, 33, 20, and 30 yards (that's knocking on the door step of the end zone).

This team has a lot of issues. We have a good, not great, and often inconsistent scoring offense that cannot make up for a terrible D and ST. NO TEAM in the NFL has had worse starting field position than the Redskins this season. That's a fact.

Washington – Three Performances of Note

Missing Throws

Even if the Eagles really did know what plays were coming, it still doesn’t excuse the vast amount of misses that Griffin (-3.0) had on the day — 14 of his 32 targeted throws failed to reach their intended home. RGIII was a staggering 4-of-16 on throws over 10 yards downfield when last season that was his strong suit, completing 61% of passes targeted over 10 yards. This season that number has dropped to 43% and it’s not difficult to see why he’s struggling. For the day he had 11 passes downgraded and was deemed responsible for a sack, a hit, and a hurry. After two great games, it’s disappointing to RG3 so off in a huge divisional game.

now 3 of those 12 were deemed Rg3's fault according to PFF. so on 9 of 39 dropbacks the o/line can get dinged but wait helu blew his assignment on the sack/fumble so now we are down to 8

so in 39 drop backs the o/line was at fault 8 times and that doesnt make it avg ?

just trying to get a gage here

Skinsdad.... the gage is rather simple actually. When ever we drop back to pass, or teams are expecting us to pass, the line comes up short. This results in rushed throws, batted balls, poor throws and all sorts of mishaps. Now Mr Griffin is to a degree responsible for this as well, as his deep ball accuracy just hasnt been there more often than not. Defenses are challenging us to beat them with accuracy in the passing game, because we dont have the time for RG3 to stand in the pocket and scan the field. Forget about yards for a second and look at over all production as in points and win/loss record. Sure, we move the ball and can run on any one. But if we are forced to pass, our line cant hold up. The real gage should be, when teams know we are going to pass, can we still do it effectively?? And not just in the 4th quarter when teams are protecting a lead.

There is a reason pass rushing specialists exist in the NFL. Every OL is worse when they are in obvious passing downs.

Come on GK.. seriously?? So if its not the line, who is responsible for this team only being able to pass for 24 yards in an entire half of football?? Either the line cant block, the QB cant play, or a little of both. But this offensive line is far from fine man.

I'd have to go back and look for the exacts on each play but RG3 was only 4 for 8 in the first half. He only threw the ball 8 times because we were running so effectively.

RG3 was sacked 3 times.

We ran the ball 26 times in the first half...one of those was called a "scramble."

come on shark how many times is it acceptable for an avg pass blocking o/line to allow pressure ? the stats show 12 times of which RG3 was responsible for a hit a sack and a hurry and helu missed a block leaving 8 times out of 39 drop backs where the o/line got beat

is 8 times too many ?

I don't understand what this says, dad.

it says that on 39 drop backs Rg3 was pressured , hit or sacked 12 times . of those 39 times RG3 was at fault for 1 hit , i sack , and 1 pressure and helu missed a block

that leaves 8 times that an o/lineman got beat . one was williams leaving 7 times an interior o/lineman was beat

i asked is 8 times for an avg o/line to get beat ?

what is the standard ?

i am being told we are awful so what is avg ? good ? or excellent ?
