Happens every year. Go 4-0 playing a piss poor OOC, win 2 or 3 games from there out.

One could argue a piss poor OOC schedule is better then a piss poor in conference schedule. (ACC)

Michigan State is too high with the questions that they have on defense. A lot of guys to replace.

it really wasn't all that bad. it was ranked 27th in the country with a fairly difficult schedule while the offense was ranked 75th

I thought it was very average. Take away the air force and temple games, who won a combined 3 games against FBS competition and two of them were against Army, and those numbers aren't good. And IMO we caught MSU and USC at the right time in the year. MSU was their first road game with a new QB and USC was playing their first road game under their interim HC. Michigan, Purdue, Oklahoma, Navy and Pitt all scored more against ND than they averaged against the rest of their opponents. Really the BYU game was probably the best defensive game ND played all year.

Actually no I dont think they do. if you look back they tend to be the farthest off of all the preseason stuff.
