5th rounder definitely is a head scratcher... and probably a low 5th rounder at that.

Donks definitely got the better of that deal, and with Denver on the horizon it's a risky proposition.

Unless he's a mole :D

Derby had beaten out Clay Harbor for the move tight end job but was not being used that much. This could mean that Glenn Gronkowski, a TE/FB in college, may be activated. Another chance for 2 Gronks on one team. There is still one open roster spot. I was hoping a running back (Dion Lewis?) might be added to take some of the burden off Blount.

Derby's only drawback is that he's not a real strong blocker. He'll shine in Kubiak's offense where a TE isn't required to do a lot of physical stuff. I think he's worth more than a 5th but BB has his reasons. Most likely he need that spot for Van Noy. Congrats to the Broncos, you stole another one.

Andy hart of Patriots Football Weekly was on Sports Tonight. Mike Felger and he were discussing the trade for Van Noy when Hart may have slipped up about information he picked up yesterday. Hart works for the weekly paper the Patriots offer about the team and they have pretty free reign around the players, locker room and coaching staff. They are extremely careful about anything they say that could pub licly put the team or staff in a compromising position. Anyway.................talking about trades, Hart slipped and said that Belichick had been talking to the Browns about............................and stopped immediately right there. Then shifted the conversation to the November 1st trade deadline.

Felger picked up on it and tried to get the conversation back to what Hart said. Hart recovered and said that Marcus Cannon and Seabass Vollmer were the starting tackles and that's all he knew.

Belichick has made two trades. If Hart did slip up, does that mean that BB is actually looking to get Joe Thomas to protect Brady's left side? Thomas would be a HUGE improvement over Solder and Vollmer on the left and Vollmer could go back to his real comfort zone on the right side. Cannon could go back to RG and the OL would be very solid. Wednesday could a very interesting day.

Fingers crossed.

If they get Thomas, which I don't think will happen, he will prob play the right side. I can't see him moving Solder (who is having a good yr). It will be easier for JT to step in on the right side. Cannon will never be an OG. He will be a back up OT. Now saying that. BB will trade for Thomas and move him to RG where he will go to the next 5 pro bowls...LOL

Volly will not be back with this team. I don't see him coming of PUP.

Who wouldn't want Thomas on their team? It would all depend on what they have to give up for him? Sure would be nice if they could dump Bolden and Ryan along with a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

I can't find a thread where I called another Pats fan out incorrectly. He said that Vollmer was out and I said it was Solder. It bothered me all day yesterday and I decided to check it out. He was correct and I was wrong. I just want to apologize for any harm I may have caused.

Sorry
