Shorten the NBA season!

With the NBA having an 82 game season, it can become a boring stretch until toward the end of the regular season, when the playoffs are about to start. During the 1998-99 NBA season was cut short due to the NBA lockout, which when the season started, teams only played 50 regular season games. Should the NBA shorten the number of regular season games to 50 per team, and play the NBA All Star game at the 25th game mark, what say you SportsHoopla?

the reg season in the nba is pointless, almost as much as baseball, but those dollars matter. I mean when a team is actively "resting" their superstar every night for "conservation" you know how much the season matters

That's ridiculous. The baseball regular season actually means something. The nba regular season let's in garbage teams almost every year and usually has teams so good that they don't even really try during the regular season.

That's one of the worst arguments I've ever heard. The nba obviously has the most pointless regular season. Nobody squeaking into the nba playoffs is going to do anything. Mlb teams squeaking in have won a number of titles.

that may be but the regular season is ludicrous, they both suck, the MLB does not need 162 games. Every other day a guy is on rest, or off, or no one plays on sundays, or someones pinky hurts so they are on the 15 day DL. its so stupid.

On top of that its the SLOWEST game in history. half the game is fixing jock straps and fastening gloves. WHile the other guys stand around, or play around in the dug out and bullpens

If my math is right you could play every team in your conference twice and every team out of conference once in 41 games.

(14*3) + (15*2) = 72

Or

Division 4 times, Conference 3 times, Other Conference twice
(4 * 4) + (10 *3) + (15 *2) = 76
