Just the fact that Scotty boy is not driving me crazy anymore is worth it for me. It's about time someone got off their dead ass and did something about Servais.Watch him go somewhere else, win a WS and multiple MotY awards…. Just because Bob Melvin did it.
In all seriousness, good riddance! This is a move that needed to happen but it actually does nothing for me. This team has made me numb.
Or you can put them on ignore like I’ve been doing and you’ll won’t go crazy.Just the fact that Scotty boy is not driving me crazy anymore is worth it for me. It's about time someone got off their dead ass and did something about Servais.
It definitely doesn't fix this team, but Servais was an issue, so firing him does mean there's one less problem. Still a lot to be done of course, but getting rid of Servais was years overdue.I know @Duders posted this already, but I didn't want it to get lost in a game thread. Firing him doesn't do a thing. The true test is who they replace him with. If it is a first time manager or a retread non-winning manager, we know nothing has/will change. If they get a proven guy that takes no shit from upper management, then we will start to change this environment.
Not sure if you all stayed awake during another yawner yesterday when Blowers was talking about Lou's first year. He said Lou didn't come in to change the team he came in to change the organization. He wanted to root out the losing atmosphere. He tried winning spring training games to set a winning attitude and when they couldn't win those he pulled the bus over where a little league game was being played and told the player you guys couldn't beat them. Then when a couple vets were enjoying a buffet after another loss he walked over and turned over the table of food. That is what we need. It won't happen, but is needed.
Imagine that! Who wouldn’t think that criticizing players and throwing them under the bus for telling the truth has consequences in how they would respond. The fact that this team had a 10 game division lead and is currently sitting at .500 is a miracle. But everything has to come full circle.I wonder how many players still pissed about Servais making Raleigh take back his words when he spoke out last year and spoke the truth?
