Hi folks, I just finished a book called Beartown by Fredrik Backman I thought I would mention here. Its about a small town in the forest (called Beartown) that is dying and the town's identity is very entwined with its hockey teams. And for the first time in years the youth team is in a big game that could affect the fortunes of the town. Its got a lot to do with hockey, the cult of sport, small towns, and both the great aspects of sports and the horrible.
I really liked it.

Something nice happened this week. My frenemy with benefits* Jenkins, knows I have been depressed and down lately so he coughed up the $6 licensing fee so my office entrance music this week could be Axel F (instead of the free choice I had - St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)). Its been a real joy walking in each morning to Harold Faltermeyer's classic tune! Makes me want to go out and buy a Detroit Lions jacket!










*I'm not sleeping with Jenkins, he recently transferred to HR** and now handles my health insurance
