I will allow you, my wife's sister and Bobby Lou safe passage.

Everyone else can fend for themselves.

“For too long, the guise of consumer protection has been used to benefit trial lawyers, government bureaucracies, and ambitious politicians looking for their next job,” Lindsay Walters, deputy White House press secretary, said in a statement. “The Trump administration has put the focus of consumer protection back where it belongs: on protecting consumers and enabling them to make better decisions for themselves.”

...by not protecting consumers. Honestly, their voters are so dumb they'll believe it.

Trump has moved out of racism/xenophobic/embarassing world leader stage and seems to be settling comfortably over the last week into his fuck the American middle/working class stage.

I'm sure his hordes of dumb rednecks will believe it because they didn't pass 11th grade history, but they understand complex consumer protection laws. That's how it works.

...right?

You know, all Trump needs to do is watch a couple of minutes of Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller's Day Off discussing the Smoot-Hawley tariff act to understand why so many people are saying imposing these tariffs is a bad idea.

A quote from Gary Cohn:

It’s worse than you can imagine. An idiot surrounded by clowns. Trump won’t read anything – not one-page memos, not the brief policy papers; nothing. He gets up halfway through meetings with world leaders because he is bored. And his staff is no better. Kushner is an entitled baby who knows nothing. Bannon is an arrogant prick who thinks he’s smarter than he is. Trump is less a person than a collection of terrible traits. No one will survive the first year but his family. I hate the work, but feel I need to stay because I’m the only person there with a clue what he’s doing. The reason so few jobs have been filled is that they only accept people who pass ridiculous purity tests, even for midlevel policy-making jobs where the people will never see the light of day.

^ In the end Hannity will be the only one left with his lip stick rings around Trumps orange dong.

Hi folks, I just finished a book called Beartown by Fredrik Backman I thought I would mention here. Its about a small town in the forest (called Beartown) that is dying and the town's identity is very entwined with its hockey teams. And for the first time in years the youth team is in a big game that could affect the fortunes of the town. Its got a lot to do with hockey, the cult of sport, small towns, and both the great aspects of sports and the horrible.
I really liked it.
