I think it's telling that Trump deems the sort of insulting, divisive, and narcissistic rhetoric he used in Phoenix as "fun."

You have got to fully commit or the bit wont work. I am still wearing the non-prescription glasses I interviewed for this job wearing and still using the vaguely new England upper crust accent I used that day. I do not have any kids but I do have some young nephews and I do think I have some knowledge to pass on them. I think the most important thing to say to them is to commit to the bit. If for some reason you do a fake limp on your first day of high school then you better be limping across the stage to get your diploma four years later.

FYI... and you can't explain this to folks but this is the reality of most of these statues.

during the 1950s and 1960s - when most of the statues of figures such as Lee were erected. They were put up by white communities trying to impose control on black people and to push back against the progress being made by the civil rights campaign.
