Yeah, what the hell does he mean by that? I'm so confused. I'm assuming he means that liberals are not using the attack as a moment to mention gun control since the attackers didn't use them. But (1) I can't remember any terrorist incident where gun control was brought to the fore, (2) this didn't happen on American soil so our gun policy is irrelevant anyway, and (3) he ironically just tweeted about the travel ban after this incident (without knowing if that was even relevant). So there's three really dumb things about this tweet under only one possible interpretation of why he posted it.

Such a dumb man. You had to be a complete idiot to not see how unqualified and stupid he is. The debates. His many rallies. Anytime he was on TV. If you believed anything he said, you are an irresponsibly ignorant citizen with no understanding of public policy in even it's simplest forms. Democracy requires more from you.

I agree but i guess we have to give him credit for essentially being a life long grifter lol ... surely, one needs some type of intelligence to pull long cons off all their life, no?

Anytime someone says American tourists are ugly/assholes/etc. I just chuckle and ask if they’ve ever encountered Brits on tour.

They truly are a different kind of repugnant.

I am young and as hip as can be. I just saw the headline "Kodak Black Released" and clicked on it wondering what kind of film Kodak released that was newsworthy.

Just because you're admittedly confused, it doesn't mean others are dumb. Maybe you being confused is explanation enough.

I have thought a lot about whether he is more stupid or more of an asshole. I have really given this a lot of thought, not making a joke. I think its obvious he is not too bright and it is obvious he is a terrible person - but I cannot decide what is the bigger problem.

He's an Alpha male. Makes betas nervous and uncomfortable.

I have as well, Comeds. I don't think he's nefarious or evil individual on par with Nixon (or with the way the right falsely perceives people like Obama or Clinton) and I don't think his personal morals are all that different from some other presidents we have had in terms of his personal behavior (such as Clinton or Kenneday). But I do think he's extremely unintelligent - his vocabulary is frankly worse than even some of my least educated friends and he seems to have a middle school level understanding of policy and how laws work.

So that's a big issue, but I think his narcissism and meglomania may be the biggest problems. His advisors seem scared of him and he doesn't seem to want conflicting points of view in the room. His own (usually ill conceived) perceptions of things like NATO, climate change, etc. seem to go off gut feeling and his own "theories" rather than using the opinions and advice of experts on the subject.

I think what makes him unique (and dangerous) is that somehow this meglomania is coupled with a crippling case of needing to be popular and the thinnest skin we've ever seen on a national leader. Typically true meglomaniacs don't care what others think, but he presents both unwavering certainty of his decisions and then a sharp defensiveness of them when criticized. It's frankly a bizarre combination, and again, something voters should have clearly seen and stayed away from.

I understand the sentiment of some of the voters in wanting to dislodge the status quo, but I think if anything comes from this it may be a realization that the status quo is not perfect, but has a lot going for it already. This was a step too far and an underqualified buffoon is in the White House. People disagreed with Bush or Obama, but neither were this ill prepared or this dangerously stupid.

Yeah, been thinking a lot about that as well. I always thought he had good judgment and made the right calls on The Apprentice. But I suppose judging who sold the most hot dogs for charity and diving into a complex policy decision with a complex cost-benefit matrix are not the same thing.

He also failed in business... a lot. He seems to do okay with real estate, but his forays outside that (airline, steaks, water, casinos, university, etc.) failed more often than not. Maybe it's an indication he was groomed to be good at one specific thing but doesn't have the mental faculty to adapt and succeed at others.

It’s shit like this that annoys people when it comes to climate change.

2014: Great Lakes low water levels could cost $19B by 2050

2017: Toronto Islands flooding should prompt real discussion on climate change: Keenan | Toronto Star

Like, maybe bodies of water just fluctuate? Just like how all those god-awful hurricanes from 2004-2007 didn’t lead to a permanent state of horrifying hurricane seasons in which the entire gulf and eastern seaboards were wiped out?

The more hyperbolic people are, the less people take this shit seriously.
