“Just as dessert was being served, the president explained to Mr. Xi he had something he wanted to tell him, which was the launching of 59 missiles into Syria,” Ross said. “It was in lieu of after-dinner entertainment.”

As the crowd laughed, Ross added: “The thing was, it didn’t cost the president anything to have that entertainment.”

since you brought up appropriation, i was reminded last night (at my kids burnaby dance festival concert) of the policy here (not sure if its just a lower mainland or BC thing) in public schools to start off any type of proceeding/assembly to acknowledge and thank the local first nations "whose land we live and learn on"

You gotta like it when you make a mistake, get roasted for it, and then decide to double down.

Hawaii is much more affordable than Iceland - so if you look it in comparative terms, you're getting a good deal.

By the way, I was driving on the 405 last weekend between Long Beach and LAX and saw a billboard advertising round trip flights to Hawaii for $99. I'm guessing you paid too much for your flight.

We are lucky that Bellingham International airport is just on the other side of the border and they have cheap flights to many desirable US destinations. It's the only way to fly :D

Big island investment tip - oceanfront property south of Pahoa is still pretty cheap - deal of a lifetime I've been told. I'd recommend the Kalapana area for the best deal.
