I think RobBase is arguing semantics here - You could make a case that he didn't actually say that he thought the presidency would be easier than the previous life, rather that he just thought being president would be easier. The actual quote and the context though (and likely the meaning) is in plain sight for everyone to review however.

I think that - because he's not a career politician, full of canned responses, surrounded by PR people telling him what to say and how to act all the time - that we see the human side of him a lot more than we have seen from previous Presidents.

Like that video of him smiling, almost dancing, and the First Lady taps him and he outs his hand on his heart. That was a moment of a happy guy lost in the moment of life, and his cool as hell woman watching his back. Completely organic.
