sounds like it from the article. some ku fans were pissed about this scrimmage until they realized it was for charity. and selfs comments say it all, "whats in for us?" if this does resume i doubt it will be on mizzous terms.

Missouri's move to the SEC, put KU's future in a major money conference at risk (remember, a lot of people thought the B12 was doomed back in 2011). Missouri decided money over tradition, so KU is just going to assist Missouri in making sure they follow through with their decision.

As an outsider, its disappointing, but I kinda understand it.

Self is the posterboy for tax evasion last I checked. He can't really get upset at Mizzou leaving the Big 12 for money reasons.

That said, KUs whole future in sports is based on KC market and they have a monopoly on that without Mizzou and an NBA team. The rivalry is never coming back because KU will never want to lose KC.

I'm really hoping Mizzou can play themselves on the 9/10 line in the tournament and potentially play a 1/2 seeded Kansas team. Game would more than likely take place in the Wichita pod, which would be an incredible atmosphere.

With Mizzou getting things like computer rankings in the 80s, I'm in the 'just get in' mentality with the tournament. Any win a team gets outside of the 1/16 line in the tournament is a war and nothing to take for granted and generally speaking being a 9 seed is probably the toughest sledding to a title you can get.

If Mizzou and Kansas are in the same bracket somehow and meet thats cool and all but its still not the home and home rivalry that you want to see.

Gamecocks looked a little slack today in the exhibition game. Won by 40+ over a nobody (Erskine) but no one stood out and filled the shoes of the guys we lost from last year (Thornwell, Dozier, Carrera). Part of that may be due to the fact that the coach put all the newbies in once we established a big lead and they got A LOT of playing time, but I'd feel better about the upcoming real games if we'd established some leaders.

It's a shame UCF has been bitten with injuries. Not having Dawkins and Taylor is such a huge loss.
