That's at least the 3rd time it looks like the refs giving a yard more than forward progress should have let them.

Starting to feel like our chances in this game are fading, our offense has done nothing in the 4th q this year

Dez Bryant has 12 yds receiving and you would think he just won the super bowl

It's a matter of opinion and one even their expert agreed with us on.

If he didn't have enough time to fully react to where he could defend himself it's a tough position to be in. MP wanted to call it still sort of a defenseless player. Call it what you like, but allowing those kinds of hits does what for the game?

The problem with this particular hit being penalized is that Lockette was between the returner and the end zone, so blocking him was perfectly legit. The "hitting a player in a defenseless posture" rule would only apply in this case to -

(8) A player who receives a “blindside” block when the blocker is moving toward his own endline and
approaches the opponent from behind or from the side
.

I agree it was hard to watch and hope that he'll be ok. But under the current rules there was no violation there.... unless you say he was approached from the side, which he was initially. But the final approach and hit were head on. No helmet to helmet or hit to the head either. That was a "he hit him too hard" call... and maybe they should figure out a way to better control that with the rules.

WOW Richard. Way to dominate Dez. Love how refs throw the flag when they have a freebie... "OMG a chance to not look bias even though it didn't matter! Throw a flag quick!"

OK, so dump pass for 1y, run for -1, and a failed ridiculous pass play to force a punt. Does that sound about right? :noidea:

Offense, defense needs some rest. Long drive here would be nice.

Well.... Jon Ryan, keep that leg warm! Hopefully we can get a good 60 yard punt here.

I think our defense is still good, not elite but good. The problem is our offense is the worst its been with wilson at QB.

Run for 2 yards, sack, hail mary incomplete, punt, Cowboys get ball at own 48 yard line.

How about a Lockett run back for a TD, I could go for that.

Where did I suggest it should be a penalty?

Seriously. You spend that kind of time working yourself up over something that wasn't ever said.

It's a blindside type of hit and they should probably do something in the future to protect what even their own expert says was a sort of defenseless player. I didn't say it should be called.

I said at first it looked like a helmet hit and that should be called, but said NOTHING to you about a penalty. Not one word.
